» Sat Jun 18, 2011 12:29 pm Tl;DR: Bought fallout: New Vegas. Installed correctly, went to run, got to splash screen, clicked play, nothing happens, Literally nothing, don't ask for an error code, there is none. It just shuts off. tried 7 times. nothing.
Technical mumbo jumble:
Operating system: Windows 7 64bit
HDD: 1 TB.
Gfx Card: GT 240 (Side note, it works fine, other games like Minecraft, Audiosurf, and half-life run smoothly.)
All SATA no IDE.
Fixes I have tried:
-I tried to turn off steam cloud
-I tried to turn off steam community
-I tried cache consistency check. 3 times. One file was found to be wrong and corrected all three times. Clearly this did not work.
-I tried to reinstall.
-I tried googling it since your tech team isnt that great. And hasn't gotten back to me EVEN THOUGH it said a max wait of 48 hrs.
-I tried running in compatibility mode for Win. XP sp3.
-I tried that in conjunction with running in 256 colors. And both separately
-I tried asking yahoo answers.
-I tired running as an Admin.
-I tried running it from the disc
-I tried going into the options of the game and setting the Frame rate to MAX 60.
I have tried. Literally. Everything. I paid 20 dollars for this game and it doesn't even work? Honestly I expected more from this company.
I know I'm just one customer, and that in the long run I don't even matter. But honestly Beth. Give me someone with some technical knowledge and not some crappy run of the mill "FAQ" answer.
