There's just one tiny problem, and that being I have no idea whats going on at any particular time.
The game starts off and informs you of maybe 3 buttons and then abandons you to the lackluster embrace of the booklet. After reading up on the controls, I felt confident enough to venture forth after realizing that I was doing bad things to my health button. This would set the tone for what would be a long road of confusion.
I constantly run across areas or noises that intrigue me, and in most other games I would be free to explore until I found them. This is apparently not the case with Hunted: The Demon's Forge, as the game tends to take on the persona of that flirty girl you work with who you think might be secretly into you but really just acts like a [censored] to get attention and leaves you with blue......um...crystals.
Doors are apparently all designed to be one-way in this game, leaving back-tracking completely out of the picture. There are tons of areas that seem to be accessible with NPC characters pvssyring away behind walls that I never seem to be able to negotiate. When finding a door that I think might lead to a way around, I'm always locked in some new area that I had no intention of going into had I known I wouldn't be able to get back out. It's like a kid with a limp taking candy from Michael Jackson. Just an all around bad idea.
The game constantly makes me feel like I'm being punished for my curiosity. It doesn't help that the icon for "look around" and pretty much every other function is that same revolving red O, so when I find a location where I think I'm supposed to look around I end up squeezing through some crevasse, never to return again.
It wouldn't be so bad, but the death stone appears to offer side-quests that for all I can tell are impossible to complete once I get to a point of no return.
It never explains how to use enchanted weapons, or whether or not they can be recharged, though I doubt it. So called "epic weapons" or whatever they go by in this game, are just as bad a tease as the aforementioned girl with daddy issues, as what I assume to be the number of damage dealt by the charges is often tantalizing but the prospect of my weapon "going dead" on me at a critical moment makes them seem like an incredibly poor choice in gear.
So far, my Elf has stuck with a bow I found at the very beginning with slow speed but 80 damage, as it appears to be the most constant and reasonable alternative to an enchanted weapon that "could do" up to 100dmg if I knew how to work it, but most likely only for a short time.
-Why am I unable to go backwards, or why does the game appear to present multiple routes that all seem to be permanent choices?
-What the deuce do I do with these blasted enchanted weapons?
-Why does mommy drink? (Cause I figured out why I do...)
