Christine then, Christine now

Post » Wed Jun 22, 2011 8:00 am

Does anybody have any idea if we'll have any face to face contact with Christine with dialogue and what not? If so, I hope she won't act like we're a complete stranger if you're completing Dead Money again like I am right now :whistling: that's one of the things I was worried about for bringing characters back in DLC's. If I see her 5 min. ago and then see her again and she acts like she never saw me..btw she's supposively the care taker of the Madre, then why is she in the big empty (again) anyways. Maybe it's a flashback...but maybe not. I just don't see how this connection can work in any which way. Besides...what if you kill her in dead money...

We don't know how the interaction is going to work simply that it can be done. Maybe its a holorecording, a clone, a copy of her personality etc. We just know Christine and Ulyesses will make some kind of appearance.

My BEST guess is you can watch some kind of security recording of Ulyesses breaking her free.

Seeing as she has her original voice, instead of Vera Keye's, I'm guessing its only pre-recorded stuff from her.

well since her head is all stitched up.... maybe they took her brain and it's now in a think-tank? and we meet her as a think-tank? after all, if your character survives with no brain through the dlc, why shouldn't she be able to? hmmmm

I'm guessing OWB takes place before DM and it's while Christine is getting broken out by Ulysses, I heard somewhere that meeting her in OWB would unlock dialogue in DM

Except both Dead Money and Honest Hearts can interact with the basegame in terms of dialog, so that statement doesn't hold water. There's the Veronica dialog in regards to Elijah, and Honest Hearts has dialog lines if you've killed Caesar or finished the quest. "You can depend on me"

And if they can interact with the basegame they can interact with one another.

Yeah, it's weird that you couldn't tell Veronica about her. Seems like something she'd like to know.

In any case, I will be quite disappointed if there is no impact on meeting Christine in Dead Money if you encounter her in any form during OWB.

This is the whole quote

Also the whole Ceasar interaction where you tell Joshua you already killed Ceasar is only a few lines of dialogue.
Also Jason bergman said so that interacting with Christine in OWB does not affect what happens in DM.
Jason is one of the game developers and prob already played the DLC if not multiple times to test for bugs. :shakehead:

It just seems to play out poorly sometimes. Like with Caesar and Joshua. Christine and Veronica. All I know is if I see her get broken out or she acts like she doesn't know me.. I'll be disappointed

#1 If you killed Caeser there is additional dialog in HH
#2 If you completed "You can depend on me" there is additional dialog in HH
#3 After finishing Honest Hearts the new weapons, ammo and mods added by the DLC start to appear in the Mojave shops.

And I think your the one who needs to learn english.

Also the whole Ceasar interaction where you tell Joshua you already killed Ceasar is only a few lines of dialogue.

Yes a few lines of dialog, and the reason that can't be done again is?

Also Jason bergman said so that interacting with Christine in OWB does not affect what happens in DM.

He also said that the DLC can't interact with one another or the basegame which is already proven false.

If you notice, throughout Dead Money you get markers stating "Things to Come". It's probably things linking itself to the storyline of OWB for later use. So, say you make Christine forgive Elijah somehow in the DLC. A marker saying "Things to Come" would come out immediately later. So when the time comes for OWB, what you did there links to the upcoming DLC. It may work backwards if you do OWB and then DM.

But this is just a guess, we'll have to wait until it comes out.

Yeah, I cared more about Christine than Elijah. Maybe a midnight love affair in the Madre coulda went on ^_^ xD who knows. There were nothing but dissapointing endings for Veronica in this game :\

Yeah, true; I think that's kind of the nature of her character, though. Like Lyons, she has recognized that the Brotherhood needs to change to survive. However, unlike Lyons she isn't in a position to effect that change, and so all she can do is push futilely against the inert bulk of tradition while the Brotherhood continues its inexorable march towards its own death.

Despite her pep and cheer, she really is a tragic character to a degree.

If I play DM first though...then that's dumb :P maybe in the future if it doesn't happen now, they'll connect the story better. FNV is still my favorite game though :fallout:

What's the dialogue for completing You Can Depend on me?
And also, if you're with Caesar's Legion you can threaten Graham by revealing his location to Caesar. He combats it with the fact that everyone says he's dead and to reveal him alive makes Caesar a liar.

I see no conceivable way that they will implement 2 different characters from 2 different DLCs in one DLC that can interact with the player and be in the flesh. Especially because you can kill Christine and I suspect kill Ulysses. Either we're going to interact with their personality somehow or see some sort of audio/video log.

If they ever expect us to believe that both our player and Christine can even walk around without their brains connected in any way to their body (be it through remote control or otherwise), I will smash my head against the keyboard violently. That being said, I don't think anything as stupid as that will happen.

I believe you have it a bit backwards. It is your actions in the base game that are triggering events in HH, not the other way around.
I forget who said that the DLCs can't interact with each other because they would need to make checks for certain data and if the data is not there it would crash the game or something.
That is why the DLC weapons are not affected by base game perks, example: the cowboy perk and the police pistol from DM.
