The IT Crowd

I find the show to be brilliant in pretty much every way (although fairly short I s'pose, with each episode ~25 minutes, and only 6 episodes per season).

I guess what I like most about it is that it pokes fun at the typical computer user, as well as fixing common problems, with the whole, "Have you tried turning it off and on again"? As well as problems typically being solved by actually plugging in the machine. Plus Moss. He's probably my favorite character by far (Richmond is second).

Just found out about this series a few weeks ago myself, so I figured I'd check and see if anyone else watches it, as well as spread that it's quite the entertaining piece of comedy.

Anyways, if you haven't seen it yet, it's on netflix, as well as on http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-it-crowd/4od#series-1.

That show is awesome, (it reminds me of Red Dwarf for some reason)

And Moss is the best character

What is Red Dwarf about?

A guy goes to sleep for hundreds of years and wakes up on a spaceship with a metrosixual man/cat, a Hologram and a robot. They are lost in space and try to get back to Earth (like Star Trek Voyager only British and funny), That's the basic premise, I haven't seen the first episode in a while

I enjoyed the first series of the IT Crowd, but in my eyes it has been going gradually downhill as it's gone on. As the show has been becoming less and less about them actually being IT guys, the show has been less and less funny.

Well I guess season 5 will be the last:

“I think one more series to really say goodbye to the characters and the fans. I’m not rushing into it because I don’t want it to be a zombie series where the show is dead but its body is still moving around.”

Apparently there was also an "American" version of the show, which never aired. I did find a comparison of the pilot versions for both US and UK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVuR4NxdaxI.

The Wiki pages says it's s'posed to be remade with changes made in response to the criticism it received. Not sure how I feel about that. Ayoade was in the first US pilot, which is the only upside I see.

I haven't watched it that much, but the humour seemed a bit over the top to me.

If you want really great British comedy, try Peep Show.

I love it. As someone in the IT field some of it is so true.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_Today is one of the funniest things I've seen, although others prefer the satirical documentaries courtesy of the now rather infamous http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass_Eye series...
