I've never tried a DID playthrough before. I might start this when the next update comes out for sure, which I'm hoping will be real soon. When it comes out, I'm going to try to get through the rest of the game on Very Hard (even though I've pretty much beaten it already, not to meantion I'm already at lv. 40), while killing everyone I haven't killed already. I've been playing the whole thing with good Karma, so there are still plenty of stragglers out in the Mojave. Though, bad factions like Caeser's Legion and the Fiends I've already taken care of, I've at least not died on those already (lol). In fact, the only times I've actually were in Quarry Junction, so I'm not at a loss. And once the update comes out, I'll be set for Old World Blues and Lonesome Road and everything else to come.
Rulez? We don't need no stinkin' rules:
Everyone is making their own rules. Some folks are setting some severe limits on themselves, while others are creating restrictive role-plays. Others are just playing casually. Do what you wish. But be warned, like they say: Once you go DID, you don't go back. Er, something like that.
-Gunny out.
Prime example of that particular brand of insanity is yours truly. I'm currently several dozen hours and 25--make that 26--levels deep into a DID playthrough, Very Hard/hardcoe, "roleplaying" a technophobic monk. No chems, no energy weapons, no stimpaks, no Rad Away or RadX, not even any guns or technologically-aided melee weapons. Just my wits, my fists, and a handful of utterly broken Unarmed perks between me and squishy death. My roaming ascetic, who I've nicknamed (and named) "Tuck", has just finished Dead Money and was preparing to enter Zion before I shelve NV until 19 July...but now that I've evidently been beaten to the "finish the game and all current DLCs" trophy, I'm putting my nose back to the grindstone to maximize this build in preparation for OWB and LR. One prize has been lost, but the game isn't over yet! ...Er. Unless I die, that is.
Anyway, I recommend that you go crazy-go-nuts, make up whatever inane rules you see fit, and above all enjoy yourself. DID is definitely breathing new life into NV for me. It's a new way to play and even a new way to think, and I strongly recommend you give it a shot.
