Yeah so 2 weeks ago I bought FO3 and NV for 12 bucks each and instantly became addicted to both games(no I don't need fixer) and even though I've restarted both games multiple times cuz I keep screwing up and failing missions I still keep playing cuz there's so much <[censored] to do in both games. Anyway I was wondering since now I'm a huge fan of FO what other games would I love that are just like it? Any ideas?

Well for the sandbox style exploration there are the TES games, for the post apocalyptic games RAGE is going to be out soon, and I would also recommend getting Fallout 1, 2, and tactics.
Edit: I completely forgot about Metro 2033 that game is awesome as well.

Metro 2033 is pretty good post-nuclear shooter with a surprisingly great story.

Bioshock shares a good deal of the same "post-apocalyptic retro-future" vibe, although it's executed in a very different way, and the storyline is completely linear. So if that's your thing, might want to check it out (if you haven't already)

Going to second Metro 2033, I haven't played it yet (waiting for it to be on sale on Steam, I'm cheap) but judging from a Let's Play I watched it looks very awesome.

I have Bioshock 1&2, Borderlands I have, and is Fable or Oblivion any good? Are they like the open world that Fallout is? Is Oblivion Elder Scrolls? Sorry for the ?'s just curious

1. For me fable is okay Oblivion was much much better.
2. Oblivion's open world is set up just like Fallout's. Fable is technically open world but it is much more linear.

Metro 2033 is ok but don't go into it thinking it's an open world like Fallout. It's a linear FPS for all intents and purposes. I bought it thinking it was an open world like Fallout and was quite dissapointed

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a good choice.

Two weeks, eh? You sound like you've gotten used to the game pretty quickly.

Get Morrowind first. Despite it's age and albeit dated combat system it's a blast to play.

Stalker is almost an RPG and a great shooter with unparalleled atmosphere. My favorite by far.

Only the Russians/Ukrainians could make a game designed to humiliate you. Some of the devs worked on Metro 2033. I like that too but it's tiny.

If you aren't a 3D snob the original Fallout 1 and 2 without a question. As good as FO3 and FONV are the originals still have the best story telling. Another game with similar isolinear graphics is Arcanum. From some of the same people that did FO 1 and 2 it's set in a world where magic and an industrial revolution are living side by side allowing you to play as a magician or a Jules Vernes style scientific character. All three of these games can be downloaded for 6-10 dollars each from a site called Good Old Games.

Morrowind and Oblivion, mentioned above, are both excellent choices for 3D open world.

The original Deus Ex is more of a shooter than an rpg but you can customize your character and it has excellent level construction that gives you multiple options to achieve your objectives.

System Shock 2 (the game Bioshock wished it could have been) would be another good choice but you really need to download a lot of fan made mods to get it working and looking decent with current operating systems.
