I personally think that vault with the ghouls and overseer is the scariest place in the game, what about you guys?

Vault 34 is by far the creepiest place in New Vegas.

OMG THAT PLACE ESPECIALLY!! I haven't even been inside there entirely (:lawl:), but when I went outside of there for the Bleed Me Dry quest, I knew that there were Deathclaws inside there, and i killed the few outside. After I checked my ammo on my anti-materiel rifle, I was like "Crap, what am I even doing? I don't even have enough amm... aww, screw it". I went inside, and right when I got inside I was just like "[censored] it" and went right back outside 'cause I knew I'd get totally buttf*cked.

Yes Vault 22 was pretty scary alright it was like a maze and your getting rads all the time, gee I was glad to get out of their.
But i guess to me the scarcest places were those places with Death claws in them anyplace with a Death claws is terrifying.
I run away but their fast and can kill you with 1 or 2 blows..... hate them they scare me hehehe!!!

You're thinking of Vault 34.

And yeah, Deathclaws are pretty scary. Not so tough, though. I'm playing on Hard, and I can kill them with about 30 long-range blows from a police pistol with regular ammo at least.
The "And Stay Back" Perk has helped me with them, too. One shot, one KO. :celebration:

Oh your right it is vault 34 ,vault 22 is the one with all the veggie people in it where you go with Veronica's quest for the brotherhood of steel.
Stay back perk is that the one for the shotgun ,i have the hunting shotgun it works good on those colorful stinger bugs I hate hehe!!
I had a police pistol from Dead Money but lost it ,I didn't know it was that good I do have the Lucky pistol from Primm , wow I'd be real scared to go after a Death claw with a pistol hehe!!!
Your not kidding me are you....

The Vault with the plant people in it was reasonably creepy (sorry, don't remember the number but it's an NCR quest that branches off a Crimson Caravan quest).

Unfortunately there is nothing quite as creepy in NV as the Lovecraft-esque building in FA3.

Your right their are 2 quests that will take you to Vault 22 the NCR one from the NCR scientist and one if you have Veronica as a companion to help her find technology for the Brotherhood of Steel.

Meh, my Guns skill was maxed out, though. Plus, the game glitched, and I just stayed crouched on a huge hill about 10 feet above all of them
Spoiler
btw, this took place at the other side of the river WAY east, the "Deathclaw Island", as I've heard it been called, that has the Remnant armour on a dead prospector.

So basically, I took pot-shots from maybe at least 200 meters away from:
1 Alpha Male
2-3 Mothers
10-15 Regulars
5 Babies
And every one of them felt my wrath. (And Boone was hiding behind the hill the entire time  )

Yeah, I think that was the Dunham building or something like that. It was pretty freaky. V34 and V22 were pretty creepy but not even close to that.

NV doesn't have enough good creepy locations IMO, I'd have to say it was either the ghoul vault or the plant vault.

Ah yes, the Dunwich Building, that was it. Named after The Dunwich Horror. Sure wish NV had one or three places like that. Good stuff.

I personally felt that Camp Guardian was this games answer to the Dunwich Building.

Spoiler

Lost radio contact...
When you get close enough you pick up the S.O.S. message on repeat...
You pick up journal notes along the way that point towards madness, and hearing voices...
Then the journal notes take a darker turn, and people start vanishing ...
What true terror lays beneath the depths?
They had dug to far, and the 'sleeping' horror has arisen!
There is but one semi crazed survivor with a broken leg...

Very lovecraftian, and very creepy in my book.

This is similar to a thread we had a while back, so I'm just going to repost what I said back then, with a few cuts:

Vault 34 scared the hell out of me, not because it was that creepy, but because I kept getting lost in it, slowly running out of rad-x and rad-away (In hindsight, I should have brought more). Actually, what scared me most is that I didn't even know it was there. If you don't know, there is a one-way entrance on top of the hill that V-34 sits in. I was just climbing the hill, saw a pit and was like, "Hey, I wonder what this is-DAMMIT I FELL IN!" I didn't actually think of going Fast traveling out of it until I had already gone through and was in a creepy, radiation filed cave. Then, while trying to get out, I stumbled across Vault 34. This was quite the surprise, as the entry tunnel as nothing like any of the other vaults. I ended up running the hell out of there after I kept getting ambushed by ghouls from behind. I came back later much more prepared.

Vault 11 creeped me out little, and that little was based on what wasn't happening rather then what was. I.E. that there were only very weak enemies, I kept expecting to round the corner and come face to face with an angry deathclaw. I knew that the last room had to have something pretty nasty in it, but when I saw how nasty, I just said, "Oh [censored]."

Vault 22 creeped me out a little as well, but all vaults creep me out a little. Fallout 3 did that to me.

As for Fallout 3...

The Dunwhich Building didn't actually creep me out that much on my first playthrough. I had managed to miss every single paranormal thing (Aside from that "vision", which freaked me out for a sec), and every note on what was going on. I also had no idea what it was based on at the time, nor did I know at all until someone started talking about it on the forums. However, with all that said, the Dunwhich Building did creep me out on m second playthrough, even though I knew it was haunted. In fact, that made it worse. Since I had been through once already there was no real mystery, however the logs I had found did clue me in on things I had previously missed. Overall, the Point Lookout quest did nothing for me. I had already cleaned it out at that point so I kinda just waltzed in and burned the damn book.

Vault 87, on my first playthrough, creeped me the [censored] out! I was running through it as fast as possible just so that I could get the hell out of that damn place. Something about all the supermutants not wanting to die, and the fact that, at the time I didn't know you could repair things had me going around the vault with mostly destroyed weapons, barely able to kill a mutie and take his gun from his corpse. The lack of weapons, as well as the lack stimpacks meant I was dieing a lot, every time reloading in to that rusty, dim, red hellhole. Even today I still hate visiting it, even though I know exactly what to expect, thus making it a cakewalk. It is still me least favorite place in Fallout 3 to visit.

Vaults 106 and 108 amused me more then they creeped me out. What with all the GARRIES(All hail overlord GARY!!) and the talking to myself via terminal to "Breath deep in the blue", then refusing to talk to myself.

Eh, in my opinion V11 and V34 were the two creepiest places.

the creepiest experience I had with this game was when I was playing late one night, and it was night in game as well, and I went to the Goodsprings graveyard for the tutorial quest. Now, I usually crank up the radio as soon as i leave the doc's house, but for whatever reason I didn't have the radio on this time. I was digging up the graves for the random crap that is usually there, then I just froze as I started hearing these creepy whispers on the wind.

Was really spooky.
