Honest Hearts[Endings]Which do you perfer

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 6:07 am

I had just got around to finishing up honest hearts, much better then dead money IMO.

Although I was kinda torn with the endings.

What I liked about purging the "White Legs" was the fact the New Canaanite's were able to stay in their original home.
How ever, they leaned towards violence in the future due to the way your player solved the problem. (Maybe I'm a sap)

With them running away, the remained peaceful. But their home land ultimately turned into a dump.

To be honest, after doing both endings I was still kinda iffy on which one I liked better. I ended up stick with the "Escape Zion" ending due to the fact that my player gained more experience with that one.
I hate that the first one I mentioned changes the integrity of their moral values, but I hate that the second one meant them fleeing their homeland.
All in all, if I absolutely had to come to decision ie If I were realistically being put into that situation I think I would have to go with purging the white legs, though purely out of defense for the the new canaanite's.

So what do you think?
Pros and Cons
Which ending do you prefer?
Feel free to keep it short and sweet, or though out and detailed.

Personally I am not into running away from bullys because once you start running you will run and live in fear the rest of your life so I found it better to my tastes to wipe out the White Legs but convince Burned Man to spare Salt in Wound so it is possible to temper aggression and violence with compassion. You need a very high speech ability for this scenario though. Remember that the post apocalyptic world is a brutal and violent place so the meek are usually ground under the heels of the violent unless they find the courage to defend themselves.

The game wouldn't let me finish the final part of the 'escape' quest. I was also a bit surprised that even if you take the escape option you (or JG) still kill a lot of White Legs!

I prefer annihilation of the White Legs. I also prefer encouraging Joshua to execute Salt.

both ending are so post to be morally gray. if yopu fight , danial is very disappiontedand the soorow become a warlike tribe, if you flee the white legs win and nobody dies.

Here, I took a peaceful tribe and showed them war. I took away what they were and gave them violence and blood instead. On the other side of that coin, I also took one man's chance for redemption right out from under his nose.

I eradicated a tribe of people. I killed most of them and then because of the damage I inflicted on them, the remainder perished because they could no longer survived. Ultimately, I was responsible for the destruction of an entire tribe of people. It was genocide, in a way.

I took one man's madness and let it free, turning him into more of a depraved monster than he already was. I didn't just steal his chance for redemption, I destroyed it.

I'm not entirely sure I'd call any of that... morally grey.
