I see some sprinting in FNV mods and it works really well, and grappling would be really cool for a sneak melee/unarmed character. (something like sneaking up behind, grabbing them and then stabbing them in the back)

Gamebro is the renderer, not the engine.
Can the engine handle it? Sure.
Is if practical given the build of the engine? No. The game was not designed with such mechanics in mind, so any implementation of it would be very poor.

Yeah, you're probably right, I would've liked to see FNV with that new Skyrim engine. Melee fights just feel outdated, although gun combat is spectacular.

I hate fighting melee characters with guns since it's just a big backpedaling fight, though. When I have a melee fight I want to feel like I'm actually hitting him hard instead of just swinging some weightless sword in his face a few times.

A drug that increases your speed for 15 seconds would have been nice and a mega version of that drug that makes you as fast as a deathclaw would have been sweet
