sorry if this is the wrong spot, but I've tried asking the wiki people and they just said ask over here. a lot of hassle just to get a question answered but i'm desperate. I'm begging ok.

so I was had only one companion quest left to do, and needed 2 points with gannon to start his quest. I decide to go to the fort to trigger his dialogue. I had never been to the fort before, and was vilified with the legion. I decided to try for the first time to wear a disguise. well it worked great at cottonwood cove, all the hostiles turned to allies and I walked up to the boat and got transported. Then I saved...
I was happy at first, having triggered the dialogue for arcade, and then triggering his other dialogue to start his quest. I got all my stuff confiscated from me, and it told me to talk to the caesar. when I through the gate however, dogs and guards still found me out. Which I suppose makes sense. The problem I have now is that I'm stuck here.

The only other save I have is three solid days of playing in the past, so it's ancient. I have no weapons, and my unarmed damage can't even break there DT. I have stealth boys, which helped a bit, but as soon as I enter caesars tent, their is no getting around it, they are hostile to me.

I even tried to cheat with the console (which I really don't want to do) but even killing caesar I can't find the equipment locker for my stuff, and the guy who transported me there just tells me I need to talk to caesar with no other options.

this was supposed to be my last quest before endgame... I have already done for the republic part 2, all the faction quests that matter for endgame, and arcade was the last companion I needed to do. my other save still needs to do jacobstown, black mountain, powdergangers/ncrf stuff, brotherhood of steel, and 4 companion quests still need to be done. it's not freaking nice to have to repeat all those things. I'm going for the "nicest" ending so everything of course has to be done the slow way, with doing the whole line of brotherhood of steel stuff to sign a peace treaty with ncr, repairing rhonda, and doing everything in jacobstown.

Is there any way to get out of the fort with nothing but stealthboys, without cheating?

Fast-travel, maybe.

mmm I still need my equipment back though... wheres the equipment chest? I think I may be able to pickpocket the guy that has the key... I hope. I have about 70 sneak, but I fail every pickpocket attempt I have ever tried.

Your equipment should be returned to you after you fast travel out, save first just in case.

Your equipment is returned on fast travel, as for the chest, it's near the entrance to the fort, where you first get stripped. :wink_smile: It's locked though so you need to kill the front gate guards for the key, though you'll have to deal with Cottonwood cove in all it's entirety when you return. :shrug:

Don'tcha just hate it when you overlook the pure obvious solutions? :facepalm:

But don't feel like the Lone Ranger :teehee:
