Honest Hearts - bad first time experience

Post » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:01 am

My first time through, I spent hours trying to find a quest or something to do besides killing everything in the place. I finally exited the Honest Hearts after many hours of mindless killing and without a quest to be seen. The ending credits gave me the impression that there was supposed to be some story line involved. Anyway, I bit the bullet and reloaded from the start losing all the levels I had gained. Turns out that I had killed the one and only character who can get the quest line stared and I did not even realize it during my first play through. The second play through was good, but I sure hated that I missed the story line the first time through.

Yeah, it's very easy to accidentally kill Follows-chalk in the beginning of the DLC. I did it the first time as well :cryvaultboy:

You missed the text popping up on the right/left side of the screen saying "[Quest name] Failed" ?

Same thing happened to me... I spent about an hour wandering around until I finally found Daniel who immediately attacked me (like all his tribe).. :sadvaultboy: Found the map and split... :banghead: Have to wonder what they were thinking putting Follows - Chalk in the same cover with a trigger happy hostile... :swear:

It happens, I played Honest Hearts on PS3. Since we got Honest Hearts late due to the PSN outage, I knew not to shoot Follows-Chalk and I still accidentally killed him. He spawns in a bad spot and in the heat of battle, even if you know not to shoot him, it's still easy to accidentally kill him.

Chalk sneaks up behind the White-Legs on the rock and kills him. If you don't see it happening, it looks like Follows Chalk IS the white legs who was shooting at you.

I've heard of this happening, but there is an auto-save point right beforehand, so you should load up and not kill a friendly NPC.

Lol apparently alot of people did that, I didn't on my first time through because I was reloading behind a rock and didn't even see Follows Chalk kill the white leg.

I saw it all happen in the scope of my La Longue Carabine. It was a very Last of the Mohicans moment.

I did it on my first playthrough as well. figured this "Follows-Chalk" person was in cahoots with the people attacking me so I blew his head off. :whistling: Was shortly slaughtered by Joshua after that. :teehee:

I turned him hostile with Meltdown and blew him up. :sadvaultboy:

Pretty poor NPC placement there, they should have disabled your weapons for a second or two so you could watch him do it.
