Not to dwell on the disappointment, but I believe Redneckdevil touched on what I felt exploring the map.
Regardless, I'm ready to move on, and I can play both at the same time anyways. I'll dl at least one of the dlcs and it give it shot.
You guys got me turned around to start thinking about what my character can be with regard to the various tribes/factions. About midway through the game I just finished, I was pretty hype'd about seeing how House's robot army role would unfold. Unfortunately, I didn't feel I could trust House so I killed him assuming that Yes Man could be manipulated into working with the NCR to defeat Caesar, but that didn't play out that way. It appeared that after Yes Man got the chip he fell back into House's role, so I reverted to a prior saved and prevented his army from playing a role in the final event. That sort of strategic interaction was pretty cool.
One last question. FONV took care of the FO3 problem of a limited number of traders running out of caps, but I was limited in how much ammo I could buy. Is the answer the Work Bench and Reloading Table? It appears that you can disassemble your ammo and/or buy raw ingredients such as powder to make your own. In the early game I sold a lot ammo that wasn't my caliber because I needed the caps, but now I'm thinking I should have kept it for reloading. I acquired a few mods in NV
I'm using a PC but wasn't able to use the console in FO3 for some reason. Checked my .ini, read up on it, etc. Haven't tried it so far in NV but I give it another shot
