So I recently(and finally) purchased Fallout 3 and New Vegas on PC, Fallout 3 runs fine but I've ran into a problem with New Vegas, which is that when I enter my game code it won't connect with the Steam servers, which means I can't install the game, I have a pretty bad connection as it is, so does this mean I cannot play New Vegas because my [censored] internet? Because if that's the case that's pretty [censored]. And no it's not a thread asking Steam to change for me, I need help!

Protip: go to the customers service.

Ideally the game should install from the DVD, but in my experience it will not do this without an internet connection.

I've not had good luck with Steam customer service. I bought access to Bloodlines from them and the game would not run after installed, and Steam customer service replied (and they were serious ), that I should pull half of my RAM out if I wanted to play the game. The game works now (with my RAM intact), but no thanks to them.

Shut down all other programs that may use internet and keep trying. That "servers too busy" is not uncommon even with faster connections. If you have it on disk it should install it from it, if it still starts downloading it, stop the download and run the installer from the disk again.
