Having an issue with Dragon Age II

Post » Mon Jul 04, 2011 10:15 pm

Right, so I'm playing Dragon Age II, and I keep CTDing during cut-scenes. It doesn't do it if I skip them though.

I'm currently running it on max settings in DX11 mode, my graphics card is a GTX 580 and it should be up to date. I'm also running Windows 7.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

It may be a codec problem. Do you have something like the K-Lite Mega Pack installed? If so, try uninstalling it.

I'm just running the default game. I read up a bit and it seems to be an issue with DX11, as it doesn't do it with DX9 settings.

No word on how to fix it though...

I wasn't referring to the game setup. A mega pack is somethiing you would download and install to run a wider variety of video formats. Sometimes they cause problems with games.

I don't have any more general ideas other than doing a Windows update, although the install of DA 2 should have put your DirectX where it's supposed to be. I hope you've got a topic running at Bioware too. :P

Oh wait, I do have one more. Be sure your graphics driver is up to date. Sometimes they fix issues with DirectX.
