I know that the id Tech 4 games used it, but will Tech 5 use it as well? I'm not expecting the full EAX/EFX extensions - they were only used as an out-of-court settlement with Creative - but I am hoping we at least see the basic version. I'm guessing OpenAL was what was used on the iPhone version, given Carmack's penchant for open source, and potential for Mac and Linux support.
I'm hoping for hardware acceleration. Anyone know if there's been any info on the sound engine? Anyone at least seen what the iPhone version used?
