Something all games like this lack

So many games like this are created, but the levels are so fast moving or 'active' that you really don't have the time to go around and explore the wonders of the design behind the game. Many of the games they put so much time and effort into beautifying the area's for the user, but then the user ends up missing the majority of things in the area's as their forced to push through, or are on a 'timer' to get through to unlock certain things. It would be nice if these games had some sort of "Exploration Mode" where the user could take their time to wander around the levels and take a look at everything without a creature popping out of the woodwork at you. Even if it was a mode that was made so that you could only explore levels that you have already completed, it would be a awesome addition to the game.

Another nice feature, that some games have decided to incorporate but not many is one that lets you 'view' the creatures you encounter throughout the game once you've met up with them. letting you see the details at a minimal level, it would be cooler if they let you see these at a more detailed level, allowing you to zoom in and see them up close rather then at a fixed distance.

These are two things that I really wish game designers would do, I love looking over the levels and taking my time going through them to see all the wondrous little beauties that they've put into it. Reading posters that have been placed on the walls, even down to looking at the clipboards and computer screens scattered through the levels to see if they have something different on them. Finding all those little unique textures that have been applied to different things through the levels.

There is so much to see, but so much of it never is, so why not make it so we can see all the details that have been added into the game.

I doubt it. It could be the PC version.

But do not think so friend, rage id software is doing as they want, not all people want. Then there would be no game in the world if the developers do as others want to be.

The game Development Companies do many things that the users want, perhaps not always precise to the point but they do make their games to serve what the people of the communities want. If Ideas are never shared to concepts of what the user would like to see the companies then fly blindly to "Try" to make a game to the "Genre" the "Users" want. There are many hours of marketing research put into each game product to see if the time invested in its creation will prove to pay for itself once its released, also many hours of marketing research is done, asking questions to find out what people want in a game, While the research may not show it to be for a specific game, or genre the research is done none the less, and sometimes by 3rd party companies so that individuals do not know what company is researching.

But.... the key point here is....

Many great ideas are gone past, as people do not suggest them, companies don't think about them. If the idea's are never shared they can not ever become more then just a passing thought in the wind.

cheers.
