That the multiplayer IS THE CAMPGAING why did they not just make it where there is CAMPAING. Multiplayer. etc...
Other than that this game is near perfect... for a shooter

It's CAMPAIGN.... would you prefer a separate single player campaign that you probably won't play again after beating it, with a separate MP that only lets you rank up and enjoy the game if you have internet... by virtue of that is the way most games do it? Not me. When I didn't have internet for the longest time, games like BFBC2 were worthless to me because the single player svcks which is why games like KZ2 were a godsend because they would offer all the online maps to play offline against bots... and it was fun.

What? He was complaining that the mp and single player are the EXACT SAME THING. Not anything about not having internet. The only difference between MP and Single player in this game is lag, and the occasional human.

Personally, with the campaign and multiplayer fused I would want alot of campaign missions. I worried the game would lack content before release and I was right.

I understand that without a stand-alone campaign, brink falls short of content when you consider it has like eight maps (which is around average for your standard MP) but with this format you can play the SP from both sides, which is something most shooters don't do. Granted, you are playing the same maps from a different perspective but at least it's something.

Considering that the maps and story (which they left open-ended) are fused together, then any future DLC will be a continuation of the story/campaign.

Agreed, the Sp is absolutley horrible, its multiplayer with cutscenes. How Splash Damage thought this would be fun is beyond me.

Whatever, it's a different kind of format. I like the way Brink is set up but if you don't like it then too bad for you. Go play another cookie cutter game then.

Cookie cutter? Originality isn't always a good thing.

As for the whole cookie cutter thing well, I just don't now what to say. Brink gives you repetitive things to do over and over again while most games at least attempt to keep you interested in the story. If by cookie cutter you mean games that take you through multiple different scenarios and are not just MP with bots and cutscenes well I'm fine with those.

Why all the "if you don't like it then leave" talk? I'm tired of seeing people trying to get rid of others when the community is still dwindling. It's like people want Brink to die out so they can play it by themselves.

They said we'd be getting a singleplayer, with all the story, character etc. What we got was two forms of multiplayer; one that plays through levels sequentially and one that has a voting system to determine the next map. Both have the same cut-scenes, both can be played by yourself with bots or with other people. The only other difference is that just one is tracked for stats.

I like that they blended the modes so you can have friends jump into an existing match with you, but by taking away the traditional singleplayer story and replacing it with essentially a duplicate of the multiplayer they removed half of the game without replacing it with additional content.

They clearly stated they were blending the two in almost every interview. This arguments getting old. Search bar.
