Bullet Sponges

Monstrous things like super mutants and radscorpions make a little sense. What drives me nuts is the pissant Freeside street thug that's wearing a T-shirt but takes 3 shotgun blasts at point blank. That's what made me start rebalancing things in the GECK.

I'd make better enemies have better AI, hidden bonuses, special attacks and behavior patterns.

This is how I would do it as well, as I absolutely detest 'bullet sponge' enemies. One thing I would not do, though, is reuse the Point Lookout damage bonus method, as the fact that it bypassed DR was incredibly cheap.

OP That was a good poll.

I like bullet sponges in fo, because fo is a stat based game where I will without a doubt be the biggest bullet sponge of them all.

In a modern military on-line shooter I don t want them, but in fo I do.
It makes no difference if you have to shoot them 57 times because of armor or pure hit points.

The NPCs don t stand a chance against a human brain playing a level 20 courier. The best thing they can do is make some of them have a lot more hp than us. They don t scare me. When my video game guy dies I m actually happy. When I can 2 shot Super Mutant Masters while they are spraying me with a mini gun, I am not happy.

Taking the stats out, and having 1 and 2 shot kills all the time would turn this into a full blown shooter with more talking. If I want people to go down everytime with 1 head shot I ll go play SOCOM.

Bullet sponges are absolutely needed to counter how powerful our players get. Fo nv is way past over due for some real bullet sponges.

A character that can take A LOT of damage before dying. Almost impossible to kill.

I haven t seen any of these in fo3 or fo nv.

I have seen things in (fo3 mostly) that could kill me if I was dumb, so harder to kill yes, but nearly impossible....... no
