"Zombie" DLC

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 8:47 am

Now, first off, I know people are going to be all, "The Ghost People in Dead Money were zombies and so are feral ghouls..." and ghouls, I have to say, are, but the Ghost People, not so much. The Ghost People are more along the lines of mutants to me, since, as I understand it, the exposure to The Cloud caused them to turn that way, like FEV and Super Mutants. And when it comes to ghouls, I just havent seen that many, yeah there are a number scattered here and there, but when im talking like a Zombie DLC, I want large quantities of ghouls, like how Fallout 3 had The Dunwich Building, The Turtledove Detention Camp, and various metro tunnels.

This in my opinion, if you dont like it, thats all fine and dandy, if you do, right on, I dont much care either way, just please try and keep posts in this topic civil, Thank You.

I know, but thats my point, where is FO: NV equivilent. I have only ran into feral ghouls a handful of times in New Vegas, while in FO3 I was running across them alot, and I liked killing feral ghouls, would like seeing more in FO: NV

I've only seen ferals @ the Repconn site and I don't think they respawn if you finish off the quest there. It's sad they weren't more widespread in FONV.

It's too bad I don't have the PC version, I'm sure there's a mod in nexus that does something like that.

Not sure if Obsidian will include such a thing in the next 2 DLCs. It doesn't look like OWB has any ghouls to speak of and it's unlikely we will be seeing it in Lonesome Road either unless there's a good reason story-wise to put them in.

Still, if a Feral Ghoul based DLC came out, even if it is just a mindless (pun intended) "zombie" shooting fest with minimal story, I'd totally buy it... =p

Not really interested in a Zombie/ghoul dlc. If you want zombies Black Ops, L4D, and others are better options.

Eh. For one, Ghouls are not in any way zombies. Just crazy, emaciated humans that were exposed to radiation. So basically, they are mutants, just like Ghost People and Super Mutants. But moving on . . . no. I think the amount of feral ghouls in New Vegas was good, as it does not make that much sense to have more. Most people would have died from the radiation as they weren't genetically prone to ghoulification, and many others would die in the blasts. So yeah, the amount of ferals is definitely appropriate. I do suggest you go to the area between Primm and Mojave Outpost, as there are some ghouls there. Other places with ghouls include the Nuclear Test Site in the southernmost part of the map, Repconn, and Camp Searchlight. There are also Reavers in some places, albeit (thankfully) nerfed from their Fallout 3 counterparts, which were bullet sponges. So really, there isn't much reason to have a "zombie DLC" with lots and lots of ghouls. A DLC's selling point shouldn't be more things to shoot anyway.

Go to the Test Site.... There are a lot of Feral Ghouls there. or go to Camp Searchlight (not as many because they are more spread).

They should try to put distance between ghouls and zombies, not make them even more the same. (And that includes "feral" ones. (For Fallout 4, cut them out and bring back krazies.))

Cause originally Bethesda licensed to create 3 Fallout games before buying the entire license.
Then when they bought the license they said that the reason they bought it was to continue the franchise and continue to develop Fallout games.
And of course: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1207575-fallout-4-speculations-suggestions-ideas-25/

they said there's gonna be one. and with how popular there series is, it would be stupid for them not to make one especially if they have the licenses to make a 3rd one.

I wouldn't really like to have a "zombie" download like the one for Red Dead Redemption. But if there was a DLC that had a place like FO3's Underworld then I would buy that.

IMO there were plenty of ferals in the game, but the "normal" ghouls weren't given enough content.

I don't get zombie fixation period, zombies are so boring. Why can't we have a werewolf apocalypse for once? Werewolves > zombies.

Not that I want werewolves in Fallout.

remember the scene in trainspotting where he's trying to kick the junk cold turkey and he's laying in bed with a baby crawling on the ceiling towards him with its head spinning around?? lets just have a DLC with ceiling-crawler head-spinning-around demon heroin babies! thats way cooler than zombies, or werewolves for that matter. (although make those werewolf babies......now we're gettin somewhere )

I love zombies.
The idea of a zombie apocalypse is interesting, if they follow a Dawn Of The Dead 1978 approach then humans have the illusion of a fighting chance.
With the right ideas you could survive for very long without using a single firearm against them.
Though in the end it's futile, paranoia, greed, deception, survival of the fittest, human will turn on each other for their own profit rather than to try to help one another out.
So fighting hordes of them will be to no end, the world is dead, you're fighting to stay alive, yet for what purpose?

I just love zombies yknow, the concept behind surviving in a world like that.
I don't like vampires though, they're too OP if going by Blade formula and too sparkly if going by Twilight formula and too "meh" if going by Nosferatu formula.
And werewolves are far FAR too OP, even more OP than Dawn Of The Dead 2004 zombies.

So I like classic zombies because of the subtle things about it with human interaction amongst each other and fighting a worthy adversary.

But I still do NOT want any Bruce damn zombies in MY Fallout.
We have Dead Island coming up, that should be enough.

This. I feel the exact same way. To be honest, I'd rather see a horror DLC, as stated above with the 'demon heroin babies' XD Something that you actually have to survive; or at least with plenty of atmosphere and jump scares, like, say, Dead Space. I always thought Fallout could make a superb horror game/area/mission :P

I enjoy a good ghoul hunt as much as I do a fiend/raider hunt. Give me more targets that don't make me question if I am doing the right thing by killing them... Oh Fallout, how you make me second guess my conscience so often :fallout: .

With that out of the way I still voted NO. Why one may ask? Well I hate radiation in the game. Hate it, hate it, hate it so hard my eyes bleed, and my favorite weapon is in a bloody radiation death trap :banghead: . See the problem with ghouls is they tend to also be around radiation, and I hate it so much I would rather have no ghouls in the game at all any more if it meant no more radiation. Yes I know radiation kinda goes hand in hand with fallout, but I hates it... hates it hard I say!

I know, but thats my point, where is FO: NV equivilent. I have only ran into feral ghouls a handful of times in New Vegas, while in FO3 I was running across them alot, and I liked killing feral ghouls, would like seeing more in FO: NV

The only places in FNV that I found to remotely have four,or five ghouls in one place are the train tunnel(two entrances, need 100 lockpick...very hard locks)or the sewers near camp mccarran/thorn,in the back "secret" room.(need a key for)

If you look at the lore it will answer why the lack of ghouls. Ghouls can't reproduce and with the ncr killing ferals for security they are dying out thus lackvof numbers. In fallout 3 there are more because a lack of strong faction to kill them, until the brotherhood comes. With the super mutants not killing them and keeping humans away from DC the feral ghouls found refuge in DC metro tunnels. When the brotherhood arrived they world more concerned with the super mutants.
