So tell me, NCR fans, how did the actions of your Courier alter the character of the NCR in the Mojave?

A bit in between, really. Perfectly willing and even eager to deal honestly with others, until they crossed the line or stabbed me in the back.

The Khans have already proven themselves to be enemies and were destroyed to the last. Letting them escape Boulder was a tactical act of mercy to safeguard the lives of the NCR soldiers there, and nothing but. "Merciful Thug" my ass. The Khans are just as much scum as the Legion and worth as just as much consideration. Wipe them out and move on to something actually worthwhile.

The Brotherhood may be a pack of short sighted morons, but they're skilled and heavily armed morons. Peace is brokered for the greater good and because really, the BoS in the Mojave is a paper tiger. They don't have the ability to stand up to a focused assault, so the NCR may as well put themselves in the position to make use of the BoS so long as they're willing to deal. If they step out of line, Moore gets a new BoS bunker to make an outpost out of. Going for a peaceful settlement risks nothing, and gains a potent ally for the time being.

Recusing the soldiers in Nelson is a no-brainier. They swore the oath, so their comrades had dammed well be willing to go to the wall for them. The Ranger that calls for the murder of the hostages deserves to be stripped of his rank and dishonorably discharged in total disgrace.

Eh, I was more of a "For the People" Courier in my NCR playthrough. I concerned myself more with how my actions would effect the soldiers, and didn't care how they effected the higher ups. :shrug:

There a little bit of both. They have a watered down version of how The pre war government was. There going for the right cause but at the sake of some of the people hating them in the future. There aim is to make america how it once was and how it should be. They arent white knights thats more of the BOS lol.

The NCR stomps all over the little guy and takes what they want. They do good though as well so they're in between kind of like a fledgling USA.

Well you here's what had happened:

You see when Moore gave me the assignment to get rid of the Khans I was kind of torn, on one hand in the past they had been one of the more brutal and merciless bands of raiders out there, but on the other hand they had shown signs of being reformed. But in the end their decision to ally themselves with the Legion as well as well as them supplying the fiends with the majority of their drugs sealed their fate, and I made the decision to put a end to their tribe once and for all.

The Brotherhood of Steel was a decision that was a little bit easier, but not by much. As good as it sounded to have a entire BoS chapter backing us up at Hoover Dam in the end I just couldn't take the risk of having them turn on us again and cost more of my fellow soldiers lives. After my longtime companion Veronica failed to convince their elder to end their traditional ways and embrace the efforts to rebuild humanity, I decided to use the very pulse gun she tried to use to change their minds to destroy them, Veronica now a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse.

The Kings was a easy choice however, despite the problems between them and the NCR in the past I was able to fairly easily make peace between the two thanks to some sharp diplomatic skills.

At Nelson I led my fellow rangers on a daring midnight raid and not only destroyed the Legion occupying the town but also rescued all the captives without a single casualty.

Khans: The Khans impressed The Courier. With their toughness, their survivability, and the fact that Benny screwed them as well as her. The Courier made an operational choice at Boulder City to honor the deal and allow the Khans to leave. Later, she convinced the Khans to leave the Mojave, not so they wouldn't impair the NCR, but because she looked into their future, and she didn't see one for them in the Mojave.

BoS: After ousting Elder McNamara for his incompetence and joining the BoS long before aiding the NCR, The Courier was left with no choice but to kill every last BoS member after Veronica's failure to convince Elder Hardin that the BoS needed to change. Though the ARCHIMEDES II Kill-Sat proved ineffective against the exterior of the bunker, the BoS failed to withstand concentrated fire from The Courier, the savior of NCR, the Might of the West. The Courier never spoke to Veronica again, for she both feared and loved Veronica, and did not want to face those accusing and righteous words.

The Kings: The Kings impressed me as the only real hope for change in Freeside, so I helped them. Then I got to the Strip, and Ambassador Crocker and I got to talking. I couldn't bring myself to target The Kings, so I used my favor with The King to stop the violence against the NCR. Peace reigned, and I got to keep them both.

Nelson: The Courier approached Nelson long before she allied with or started working for NCR. Boone opened fire on the Legionaires, and The Courier aided him in combat out of shared rage. She never learned of the cowardly ranger, or she would have smote him down where he stood.

The Khans I showed mercy to, I could have eaaily taken out the whole camp but I decided that they deserved a little better than they got from the NCR at Bitter Springs. They're barely better than the fiends but they have a chance to change. Also why I helped them leave Boulder City.

The Brotherhood, I'm hoping will change their old ways and embrace humanity, they're far too strong to be kept in the shadows, I allied them with the NCR.

The Kings are actually one of the best factions in the Mojave. Overall, The King does what's good for Freeside and after their truce with the NCR the have a chance to rebuild Freeside into something better.

In Nelson there's only one reason NOT to save the troops, if you're an NCR enemy. I'm not so I chose to easily save them. It wasn't even a battle.
