Sweet, thanks!

I've always hated minecraft multiplayer because all servers are so phucked up and uncontrolled.

Looking forward to this :celebration:

A friendly warning, we're switching to a new map once 1.8 comes out due to issues it would cause if we kept our current map, so don't expect to have anything that you build on this map for very long.

Lemme get this straight, you need to start a new world in order for the update (adventure update 1.8) to take place?

Once it's my turn on the shared map I'll be greatly expanding the size of our world, because after 1.8 happens any new chunks generated will have errors, if I understood Jeb correctly. But we'll have to stay inside this new area forever, until we willingly decide to change maps of course. But I'll be making the map pretty damn big (100mb gives us a lot of space), so it'll be quite a while until we really get tired of it.

But if the 1.8 update also includes super amazing changes that makes 1.7 and earlier maps look like crap, then we can also change if people want to.

You didn't answer my second question. Will new content occur on charted chunks or not?

Maybe it's because I don't know the answer to that question? What do you want me to say? "I don't know the answer but hey, great question man!" We'll have to wait and see what happens when the 1.8 update comes. But if Jeb said chunk errors occur in new chunks created on old maps, I'd lean more towards those features not appearing. But I don't know.

Nope. Which means you will not get any NPC villages and any new ores, if notch decides more ores that is (*cough* brass and tin *cough*)

Well... the ability for players to set there spawn next map would be nice, that way we wouldn't have to run our sorry assess back to our homes for ten minutes everytime we ddie.

It would help spread out towns and prevent situations like me mining into Xkiras tunnels all the time. Y'know?
