Pay Day

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:10 am

Eh, it's alright. I kind of got to the point where I don't really care so much what numbers show up in my account anymore. Never really cared so much about money before I had a job, and now that I do have a job I still don't really care.

It's useful to have, necessary even. Impossible to live in a modern country without boatloads of it. Can't even feed yourself without it.

But it's kind of silly all the same. Maybe it's because I haven't earned a penny of it and feel like I've done no service at all or really done anything remotely productive. Yeah, that's it.

You must be rich if you go to college.

 Going to college made me poorer for many years. I put myself through college, and got loans and stuff and it took many years for them to paid off.

I dunno, payday, as you get older, just means you have to think about bills and how quickly the $$ disappears from your account. :(

I get mine every four weeks, so it skips forward every month a few days and at the end of the year I've had my 'bonus' as well, since I still see it as a monthy income, instead of a four weekly one. It's handy as hell to have.

I also pay all my utilities, rent health care, savings and such at the start of the month (between the first and the fifth), which helps me keep on top of what I have left for the rest of the month.

I also have no credit cards, vehicle payments or mortgage payments (I rent), so in that regard I'm lucky :)

Woah I must be missing something here. In my college, per semester of the track I am on (Computers) costs only 180 euros, and with 2 semesters a year that′s just 360 euros or 30 euros per month.

You sure you're not mixing the cost of attending college with the cost of attending a university ?

Granted some paths you can take on college cost more than others (for example those that aspire to be barbers better lay golden eggs) and I don't include the cost for books (which can sometimes rival the cost of the semester itself) when I say it's only around 180 euros.

Oh and on the topic of pay days :D gotta love them, I will probably love and value them even more when I finally start living on my own (18 and still with my parents) and have to start paying taxes. As it is with parents who think I′ll shrivel up if they don't spoon feed me like a colt my pay checks just pile up on each other faster than they disappear.

Pay day has mixed feelings for me, its nice to feel the wad of cash, but it also represents time wasted.

Pay day? More like pay month for me.. working for Machinima only pulls in a paycheck once every quarter.

I would love pay day if I actually got to keep any significant portion of my paycheck.

I get paid on the third last working day of every month. By the time I've budgeted for bills, food, etc., there never seems to be anything left. :(

I get paid every week. I love getting paid every week. I also have free health care, dental, vision, and disability, and they are very good policies. And all this from a 20 hour a week job!
