I couldn't help but notice that there are NO female apparent on the Ark. It's kind of hard not to notice such a glaring detail in this game. I mean, all the playables are male, which makes sense, but that explain why there are NO females in their bases or any signs of a woman.
I'm a little bothered that we can't make female characters too. It kind of restricts my girlfriend's interest in even trying the game.

Am I the only one slightly bothered by this?

It doesnt bother me. Thats not to say I wouldnt mid them at playable options or something like that, but it doesnt kill the game for me.

If you have any hope that maybe some of the female players will answer your poll, I'd strongly suggest everyone keeps their misplaced sixist comments to themself.

In the flooded future we have learned to reproduce asixually, and mother and father have only become known as traditional titles for our creators.

There are mentions of females in the story. And in fact, one of the audio logs is from a female member of the Founders Council, as well as the mysterious "Ishmael" character (the female who narrates the opening and ending cinematics). There's also mention of a female traitor in one of Chen's audio logs. So there is a female presence on the Ark. It's just the fact that through the eyes of the men fighting for it's survival or to escape it, they never interact with females. You just have to use your imagination. Hopefully in the future installments we'll see much more of a female presence, namely in the form of female characters. If the artwork on the Resort map is any indication, female characters in the abstract character design of Brink would look quite interesting. (I speak of the blond and brunette models on various billboards all over Resort. I'm sure most have noticed them).

I wouldn't mind this. Though it would probably lead to gender confusion among the masses (little 8 year old boys sound a LOT like 13 year old girls). Then again, who am I kidding? Little kids don't play this game 'cause they can't sit in a corner all day.
