Item spawning mod
It's client side. I could use it on Keys server but i'm not if that was because I was an admin or not though.

It will be just like the end of the first map D:. God I was pissed when that happened.

When we picture the end of the world we think fire and brimstone, but in minecraftia the end is signaled by giant phallic pillars erupting from the landscape.

Don't you think giving players access to infinite items is a bit much? The new patch likely won't be out for atleast two months.

You must not have been in the server earlier. I was expressing that very concern too. I'm iffy on TP for standard players, but tbh, that irritates me less than us having infinite items. I don't understand how a health mod that respawns health every 30 or so seconds if that is overpowered, but having infinite items is a-okay.

I just have to make a quick post Antibody and tell you that I can't have the map right now. As a matter of fact you should drop me from the rotation for awhile, as I just had family fly in from Texas and surprise me. :D

I hadn't actually started on it yet, so you should just go ahead and use the save you uploaded.

My thoughts on being able to spawn items on the server:

If this sticks you probably wont see me again until 1.8.

It's fun playing with you all, but I can't stand playing with spawned items in singleplayer so I don't think I'd like it in multiplayer either.

Oh, alright then, just let me know when you want to be added back.

I don't really have time to, or want to, work on the map right now, so someone can take it for a while until Teehee's turn starts, or she could just take it now and have a 6 day turn. If you do take it Teehee, please post and confirm that you have.

Shared Map

Download the latest save http://www.megaupload.com/?d=37KWUONV

Current turn: Up for grabs for 3 days, then it's TeeHee:3's

Attention anyone in the rotation/schedule, once your turn has started, you must post and confirm you've downloaded the map before 24 hours of your turn has passed or else your turn will end, with the remaining time going up for grabs for other members. Failure to post during the 72 scheduled hours of your turn will result in temporary removal from the shared map rotation; to be added back you'll need to post afterwards and ask.

Now that we only have three people in the map rotation, turn length has been increased from 3 to 4 days, and will go back down to 3 days once we have six people in the rotation.

July 20-23: TeeHee:3
July 24-27: ali8283
July 28-31: Antibody (Start of Round 7)

Each turn ends at http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx on the last day of the turn.

Please try and play on Peaceful when not hunting mobs, in order to avoid damage from Creeper explosions and also to avoid unnecessary deaths.

Maps (Current as of Round 6 Session 1):
(Border coordinates: North (X)= -975, South (X)= 1025, East (Z)= -700, West (Z)= 2300)

Same here. Two months away from the next patch is way too soon to give people the ability to spawn items. Two weeks before would've made more sense, if we have to do it at all.

The thing about item spawning is that it makes the shops everyones worked so hard to get working obsolete now just weeks after they were fixed.

I can understand that there is some concern about item spawning on the server. The main point of this is to allow players to create/finish big projects so that they can share them with the community. I know there are plenty of you that have had awesome projects be shut down because of a map change. I also know that gathering the materials yourself would make it even more awesome but in doing so you probably aren't going to finish in time for a map change.

Note that these commands will be removed for 1.8. Other things that will happen:

iConomy reset
MCMMO reset

I can also see that a few of you were concerned for the shops as item spawning would make them useless. In my defense, the shops were barely being used if at all. That doesn't mean I'm going to remove them as I think a clean slate for 1.8 will help the shop mod become an integral part of the server.

I hope that 1.8 will be the last forced map change as a lot of stuff is going into 1.8.

Also, I see some of you have decided not to play because of the item spawning as it makes you feel that the game is too easy. You know that you don't have to participate in the item spawning :D. The item spawning was mainly meant for those with big projects both current and future projects. I know some of you want to make your master pieces, now you can.

In defense of item spawning: Ever see the awesomeness of a Reddit server? Yea, they spawn items. All of those awesome vids on youtube that have been linked in this thread? Item spawning. Now is your chance to make something awesome like those guys. Have fun.

Few questions:

If I install Mo Creatures, can I benefit from it on the server? As many may remember my tearful farewell, I plan on leaving civilization to go wander the northern stretches of our server, and I wish for a little challenge.

Also, someone mentioned TP. Does that mean all players have access to teleporting each other? If so, how would I go about it?

Edit: damn auto-correct.

That guy is amazing. So much dedication. The only big thing I've built is a stupid skyscraqer and my game crashed and I had to finish the top of it 6 times.

I couldn't even finish the interior. I don't know how he does it.

Who built the fishing dock also? Its a really good use of fencing and wood.

Nuck built the dock, which seems to be primarily used for drawing people's attention to the small town he built that you can't see otherwise.

I don't think I've built anything like the mob trap either, but this is also the longest I've ever played on a single map. The biggest thing I've done so far is the sand harvesting/ terraforming on the island north of the spawn trap, but that's just a lot of digging.

I can live with item spawning I guess. It's really not even the main reason I won't be playing much. I've just become bored with Minecraft lately. I'm hoping 1.8 will get me interested again.

No, Mo' Creatures wouldn't work with the server.

I was going to remark on that... It's a funky project so far, and by no means small! I got the feeling that it has even greater aspirations, though... Perhaps I'll find out in a couple rounds. Other than that, there's a number of other sweet projects I still marvel at. Rat's redstone track-switcher, monkey's labarynthian Nether fort, that big skeleton that still startles me whenever it peeks from around a tree, and Ant's super-organized transportation systems, just off the top of my head. And I really enjoyed Nuck's signage in particular.

Y'know, with the map trending like this, I'd consider re-upping the turn length. Not that it's necessary at all.

Thanks, I'm not 100% sure what to do once I've completely removed all the sand, but I have a few ideas floating around.

I hadn't thought about making turns longer again, but it's a good idea. I edited the last status post so that we now have turn lengths of 4 days instead of 3, but once we have six people in the rotation again it'll go back down to three.
