Fable 3

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:32 pm

Hello, I'm not aware if there is a topic like this, I don't much care either however. But my question is simple, is buying Fable III worth it? Is it really worth playing through? I need a second opinion before I buy it on steam.

It's not as good as the second one. The "simplification" is actually more complicated.

Depends.

I've written a http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/fableiii/player_review.html?id=744694&tag=contributions%3Breview4 on it if you're interested, but to be quite frank, I'd suggest renting it. You'd probably finish it in under a week.

In some areas it is miles ahead of Fable 2 and in some areas it's miles behind Fable 2. However both are lightyears behind Fable 1. But yeah, go ahead and buy it, it's pretty fun for the most part, but not as replayable as the other two.

EDIT: Typo

The high point of my Fable 3 experience was trying to find a chick to marry that didn't make me want to throw up. The games a piece of shi*.

Don't give Lionhead your money, please. They need to learn from their mistakes.

1 and 2 are a lot better.

And I always thought 1 and 2 kinda svcked, so that can't be good.

Alright, thanks guys, you saved me fifty dollars, I shall not forget this.

This. The best part of Fable III was when it was over. The whole game just felt so uninspired, like nothing actually mattered. It's a bare-bones game.

Coming from a fan of the first two games, I don't think it's worth the money. One of the most disappointing games for me.

Without giving away too much, the build up to the big revolution is the best part(it's basically your standard Fable game)- then it takes a sharp nose-dive after that. The turn the story takes doesn't make much sense, the game turns into a remarkable imitation of an MMO(assuming you want a good ending), and it just doesn't mesh at ALL with the good/evil false-dichotomy the Fable series is based off of.

Buy, no. Rent, maybe.

If you liked Fable 2's combat system, it might be worth a rental, but Lionhead managed to butcher pretty much everything else with "simplification" that actually made things a lot more cumbersome.
