After Rage

According to John Carmack the core technical team is moving onto the DooM 4 project now. I'm assuming about half the Rage team will hang around for DLC and Expansion packs. Considering there are two teams at id software now for AAA titles. What is the rest of the Rage team going to be up to? Next game? YES! but which one? Wolfenstein, Quake or Rage 2?

Last Wolfenstein and Quake was by Raven was it not? Does ID still own those titles? Anyway, i hope Doom 4 gets an old fashioned expansion pack like Doom 3 did, and a new Quake would be great too (i liked Quake 4 more than Doom 3 :whisper:). Those messy, disgusting cyborgs in HD graphics...

When asked if Rage 2 was being planned, Carmack answered with a flat "Yes," adding, "We haven't got a formal, official announcement, but we're certainly headed in that direction."

That said, don't expect Rage 2 anytime soon. Carmack said that as soon as Rage goes gold, id's core engineering team--led by Carmack--will transfer over to the Doom 4 team to shepherd it to market. Once that is completed, they will turn their attention to the next Rage game.

Quake and Wolfenstein are still id software. Always will be. Now John Carmack speculated that it could be developing Quake 5. So we will see in the future
