Can't access BIOS.

I think it's my SSD drive. It will boot from the optical drive when it's unplugged but when I plug in my SSD it goes to that funky stripe looking stuff.

Has the SSD drive ever worked? It could be a short in the drive or for some other reason its overloading the SATA controller. Make sure you check the jumper settings on the drive, if applicable. Also check with the manufacturer, it may need to connected to specfic type of SATA controller (ie doesn't work on a SATA 3.0 or legacy SATA controller). Also you may need to change the SATA controller options to AHCI, or IDE legacy mode.

Ummm I have no idea how to do any of that. It's a Crucial M4 64GB SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441

It's a SATA III drive but they said I could use a SATA II cable so I plugged it into the SATA II port not the SATA III. Even if I dont have a SATA III cable can I plug it into the SATA III port?

Might be a defective SSD. Can you RMA it?
