New Maps other then DLC!

Post » Thu Jul 21, 2011 9:22 pm

While I was looking at the new maps (Founders Tower & Labs) I couldn't help but notice that there are obviously other maps to speculate on. Personally from the layout of the ARK I see some of the maps that could be implemented in this game on a later date or through SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY they could add some of our idea's to it. Like one I saw was a field of Solar Panels thats located directly across from the Labs. Or what looks to be a Fuel Depot right above the reactor. Or potentially they could add Sewers as a level in the ARK. Add your idea's thoughts or speculate on til the DLC is out. You can even add ones you would like to see and I can add them to the list.

Sadly I dont think they care much for the community that is left that play the game, and seeming they dont care about us down the line I cant see them making maps that arent going to make any profit or very little profit due to not enough people playing the game and buying them

You seriously have to stop being negative man, no disrespect or anything but your vibe is completly off-putting. Can you actually support this game for once rather then shoot it down like every other CoD fan-boy.

I agree. We cant even get a console patch to fix the game 2 months after release. The DLC is a farce. I dont see why anyone is actually expecting them to step up. The fact that they released the game, in the state they did, showed that they didnt care about the community when it was going to be strong. They had to know that the crippled game would lose players quickly. They didn't care as long as they got their $. So, its no surprise that they dont care about those that are still left. 2 maps is a joke anyways. That doesnt make up for their shortcomings at all, IMO. Maybe if had actually come out in a timely fashion or if SD had been honest and open about whats going on. Anyone that wants to blame MS and Sony for this lengthy time wait, its a LIE. They have supposedly had this material since the 24th of June. It is now the 20th of July. SD has announced that they are working on another patch that will release with the DLC. This fact alone should tell everyone that they have been dishonest about what is taking so long. Also, the announcement of this patch is just code for, we are [censored]in you guys, keep holding those ankles. This "new" patch is going to have to go through the same approval process as the DLc so, in theory, we will be waiting another month, if it is TRUELLY MS and Sony. They arent going to fart around with the first material and then just punch through getting the "new patch" out. It would be out of practice with them, in accordance to what has been said about their "lengthy" approval process here, on numerous post's..

None of these. I actually want to see the wave harnessing energy plant to the very right, below Founder's Tower. I don't know why, but it just seems like a good place for a map.

Um, subject change much?
We don't need any more off topic threads. If it was a flaming topic, this would be appropriate, but it isn't one.

The game is not as glitchy as some of you type. MW2 and Battlefield are full of glitchs (I own both) yet they do fine. Most of the glitches earlier reviewers talked about have been fixed via patches and there is another patch on the way....all this within TWO months of release. Your negative attitude isn't needed. There are far less supported games.

Agreed. MW2 and BF have way more glitches from my experience, and I've been playing both for almost a year now. I just got Brink a couple weeks ago and my impressions are is that it feels a lot more "finished" than those other series. Especially when you consider this is the their first console game and MW and BF have had multiple games in their series and still have the same stupid glitches.

^My sentiments exactly! There is constructive criticism but all is doing is lamenting over what SD should have done... which no amount of complaining is going to change so his whole message is futile.

As far as the topic goes, I'd like the next DLC to feature two landmark areas on the resistance side (to balance out upcoming dlc). I like the look of that spot where the containers form a little mountain.... would be a good spot for a king of the hill type situation. Another area I would like to see is along the heavily fortified border between the two areas... rife with mission possibilities.

Thanks for naming me and other people. But like I have said before;
There are complainers complaining about a game they love, there are haters hating on the complainers, complaining isn't hating.

You are the only hater I see here

seriously without naming names, please stop turning every thread into a DLC rage thread, i know your complaints are warranted and i'm with you on that but at this point , theres better ways to go about it and your not giving anything back to the forums in general and confusing the issue for anyone coming here looking for valid info about the dlc .

i personally would like to see a naval base area , that the military had used the ark as a waypoint for refueling resupplying etc now filled with naval ships stranded here leaving most of the naval staff taking up security positions .

in a nighttime mission the resistance are attempting to steal ammo, weapons and hijack a whole ship if possible for a new weapon to use against the founders.
the level would have a similar look and feel as sec tower, lots of security posts and freight cranes with a few open areas surrounded by supply depots.

i had a few ideas similar to what the op listed , i just think all the levels need bigger set pieces that play a part of the backstory of the ark .

I like all the ideas except the Graveyard. If you read some of the comments that Ishamel gives you between matches one of them talks about the recycling Pelgo where organic waste is recycled for food and fuel. The end of that comment says , burial customs on the Ark vary. I'd think a lot of burials would be at sea, since you can't dig a hole in steel pontoons or, presumably Arkoral, and stuff bodies in there without wrecking their buoyancy. The ones that weren't at sea would likely either be cremations or recycling.

There should be a prequel level where the Ark citizens have to fend off incoming outsiders that are coming to the Ark as the water is rising. :)

Yep!!! Just for fun...an alternate reality....like the old Star Wars Episode 3 video game that let you play the end duel between Obi Wan and Anakin...and WIN as Anakin and it'd show you anolternate reality cut scene :)

QFT. I support your idea of the 'KoH' container map

The the OP thankyou, I had given this notion a cusory thought, but decided that being positive and talking up the possibility of expansions would have enraged the beast under the bridge. You are a brave soul.

I like quite a few of these ideas - even if tey aren't drastically different from existing maps. I do believe this was always the devs' intention - wether it happens or not. What we need is more of the ARK, it is a character in the story as much as Chen, Mokoena and the mysterious Founders.

I for one like the idea of the crumbling solar arrays, open to the sky and sun-bleached decaying Arkoral abound.

I apologise for my enthusiasm (I shouldn't have to).

OP, sorry, a couple people ended up derailing your thread, so I deleted a crap ton of posts -- as they amount to a conversation that could have and should have been taken to PMs.

If some of you continue to derail threads with repetitious posting on your personal issues with the game, it will be considered spam and I'll slap a warning and a posting suspension on you. So think long and hard about why you want to post in a topic - if you are fed up with the game, or didn't like it from the get go, move along from your disappointment and find topics that do interest you.

As for others, please refrain from name-calling or whatever, naming members who you think are complaining a lot - it just derails threads further. Just hit the report button. Thanks.

That was a cool fight. (Though generally jedi fights = awesome.)
That would be a cool 'what-if' scenario.
