It seems that practically everybody needs a mic. What happened to just playing the game. I mean come on. Reply with your thoughts on the subject

I always play with a mic. I do not do alot of talking, but it is very helpful when things get frustrating and regrouping is in order. i don't think it's required though as long as you pay attention to your team you should be fine.
Mics are also great cuz I can play with the TV sound off all night long

So they can properly communicate to their fellow clanmates. Confusion and disarray is not teamwork.

I don't think ive ever played a game where mics had as much value as in brink, at least fps games. I really wish my mic wasn't broken every time I use adrenaline boost and the guy stands there...

Being able to vocally relay tactical information and to really strategize with your team mates is invaluable in a game like this. I'd go so far as to say proper coordination can mean the difference between victory and defeat. For example, sometimes you really need to flank, like in Container city, you really need either the side door hacked or you need to control that through way to the right of the gate. If you try to flank solo you're an aggravation. If you flank with a four man fire team, a soldier tossing flash bangs and operative with sticky grenades and everyone on the same page in a coordinated attack you can break an enemy position rather than just aggravate them.

In a game based on teamwork, a mic is a great tool. It isn't NECESSARY, I wouldn't say... But I always play with mine plugged in.
A couple reasons why I personally use one:
1. It's great for coordination.
2. If you're getting frustrated, it can ease up tense moments (joking around or what have you).
3. Depending on your headset, it gives you a good sense of your surroundings (such as turtle beaches), and thus allows you to react quicker.

Not necessary, but no doubt a valuable tool.

Clans require mics for communication period. Yeah you can get by without em but you can do so much better with em.
