Ok I just built a new gaming PC that can handle just about anything as far as I know.

CPU- Intel Core i5 2500k @3.7GHz
GPU- AMD Radeon HD 6950 1GB
RAM- 8GB DDR3 1600 running in dual channel mode.

Now I have a few games I've been looking at in the poll, both the disc and steam versions are listed for most. There's also an "other" option for both steam and disc versions. If you choose "other" please post which game(s).

I'm looking for RPG's mostly but other really fun games with long lives are also welcome. Anything from Fallout is a no go for right now (dont feel like playing a Fallout game.) Already have Morrowind and Mass Effect 2. already played Arx Fatalis, and I already have Arena and Daggerfall. I have Oblivion on PS3 but not PC.

I also want to add that if it's a Bethesda game then I will be wanting to mod it. Don't know if the disc or Steam version is better for modding though.

I vote Oblivion 5th anniversary edition and the Witcher 2, both on retail disc, because I dislike steam (personal choice)

The Witcher will be the one that takes advantage of your system most, add to that it is a brilliant game. Oblivion even though technically weak is still one of the best games out there

The Witcher Enhanced Edition and the Witcher 2(Disc). I bought the first one a few days ago and I love it so far.

Though I have yet to play it, I hear nothing but good things about The Witcher, so I'm going to go with that one.

Get Oblivion for the PC and mod the hell out of it

Also, Gothic I and II are good if you can overlook the terrible voice acting.

IIRC all DLC are included in Oblivion Deluxe Edition from Steam and I don't know how it's to mod a Steam version of Oblivion, but I do know that if you use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1203845-relz-oblivion-script-extender-obse-0020/ you must use the correct files because http://obse.silverlock.org/ is actually two versions (retail or Steam) in one archive. On other hand if you don't want the DLC then choose the retail version of Oblivion. Just my 2 cents. :tes:

I downloaded the demo for Total war a while back. It was pretty awesome, but for right now I'm just looking for an RPG. I will be buying Total War in the future though.

So I think my final decisions are the 5th Anniversary Edition of Oblivion, just because I want to mod it, and The Witcher Enhanced edition just so I can get a background of the world and play the games in order. I'm pretty sure I'll get both on disc unless there's any big difference in getting the Witcher on Disc or through Steam.

Oblivion (steam version) works perfectly with ALL mods.

Would I have to go really far out of my way to make them work or is it basically the same as in disc Oblivion?

Awesome. Steam makes it so much easier even though it takes about the same time to download as it does to drive to the store and get it

EDIT: Now which game is better, The Witcher or The Witcher 2? As in replay-ability. story, and gameplay. I already know that Assassins of Kings is stunning as far as graphics.
