Any body else miss the good old days of getting rewarded for doing good with medals and some cheezy narrarator yelling out "Double Kill!" in a totally hardcoe voice? I know Halo's stolen the idea and you can easily say, "go to halo if you want that garbage." But, you must agree when I say, Halo kinda ruined it in reach...

Now of course, this is a What If thread, but my question is, "What kind of Medals would you want/expect from Brink?" Best Medals Get put on OP!

This was talked about before release.

They DID not do this because simply it does not promote teamwork. People would run around, example Cod trying to earn the challenge/meddle. Also where not here to talk about Reach.

No K/D was talked about before release. Medals are more skill based than that. Things such as a headshot medal or maybe a revive spree or a mine spree, things that have to do with doing teamwork. Of course the occassional double kill or triple kill is nice. :thumbsup:

Sounds like you are talking about Halo.

Mine spree would cause the too many Engineers we have already to be more useless. They would be off running around the map placing mines trying to get that double kill. Revive Spree; yes it would encourage medics to go into Die Hard mode to save you. Most likely killing them. Headshot Meddle yes maybe a decent one but would change the game allot of people play it. Running around trying to earn headshots when they should save the hostage.

Placing meddle rewards for specific classes would cause most of a team to be one class. I have played some matched and when waiting for someone to plant the bomb you realize that your entire team is medics and engineers. With rewards there a guarantee you would run into some games like this often.



So many other games have stuff like this.

I wouldn't mind a 'kill 2 or more people with 1 sticky bomb' medal, considering I do that a LOT...

a "Best (insert class)" medal would be appreciated, too.

Maybe gun-specific medals?:
'Lawnmower'- kill 5 enemies with a minigun in 10 seconds or less
'The true sniper'- get 5 headshots in a row with the Barnett or Drognav in one game
'Thump-BOOM-Thump-BOOM'- kill 3 enemies with the E-Z Nade in 10 seconds or less

Or class-specific medals?:
'1337 H4X0R'- Comms hack an enemy
'I really wasn't on your side'- kill an enemy within 5 seconds of breaking a disguise
'PhD in REVENGE'- revive a teammate, then kill the enemy that downed him

Special medals?:
'Lucky'- Destroy an unspotted mine by shooting it
'No Mercy'- melee a downed enemy
'Bi-polar'- shoot a teammate (not kill him) then buff him
'Everyone's a winner'- get the lowest score in a match

OP stands for Original Post Medal for killing 3 people in a row without missing while shooting non stop without reloading or iron sighting

Their was a thread like this in the original forum but for trophies (thread started by me) same ideas and everyhting.

T-Stan's ideas would be pretty much spot on for the eb and flow of Brink, because they actually lend themselves into things that Brink players do normally. I think for the L337 H4X0R medal, it would hold more weight to have it earned for Comms Hacking an enemy while being fired on, because Comms Hacks are easy to do when no one is looking. I DEFINITELY like the "Phd in Revenge" idea. That's freakin' genius. Here's some ideas of my own:

I'm THE JUGGANOT!!! - Kill 5 enemies in a row in Adrenaline Boost mode.

Never Say Die - Kill 10 Enemies using Downed Fire in a match

CQC Expert - Kill 5 enemies using Pistol Melee attack in a match

Smooth Operator - As an Operative, go an entire match without being spotted by enemy Operatives or disguised enemies

Fastest draw on The Ark - Kill 5 enemies with your secondary weapon after switching from primary in a match
