UFO or Not?

So the team from Sweden that found a crate of wine on the ocean floor has found http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/112055-Exploration-Team-Discovers-Mysterious-Disc-on-Ocean-Floor. It is a "disc shaped object" with what appears to be a 1000ft impact trail trailing behind it. Thoughts anyone?

I'd guess a rock, with a "shadow" leading from (not to) it, caused by the rock itself providing shelter from the currents.

I can't see how something could leave a path like that underwater if it fell from the sky, if it hit at an angle to the water like that, it would skip and slow too much.

Looks to me like the picture is sideways. It could be a rock, boulder, rusting fuselage, smokestack, submarine, or other terrestrial wreckage.

It's a piece of land that was taller than the rest. Because of that, we have slowly been descending into the core of the Earth. We're doomed. :P

I note a distinct lack of flying in this supposedly flying object. Therefore, not a UFO.

My vote is either on a vehicle made by an underwater civilization or an experimental submarine.

Yes, it would be a USO (Unidentified Submerged Object), not a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object). But still, it seems to have a trail of some kind. The currents probably pushed it along, but if it sank from the surface it could have left a trail like that.

Looks like a rock to me. To quote a poster on the article.

...what are the odds that they would design the ship in such a way as to directly mirror the most common pop-culture incarnation of alien spaceships in our fiction?

first thing i thought was, looks like Ebon Hawk. then started read the comments and someone mentioned Millennium Falcon. i'd say it is a set up, planted distraction, and bad one at that since it evokes the images of made up space ships, something to divert people's attention from the important things.

That's where it went, I've been searching everywhere! I guess it really is in the last place you look. I'll go get it just as soon as I find my keys..

Or, you know, a rock that looks like something else.

well if any thing it would be an USO (submerged object)

btw, I was on that link for a second before my anti virus shut down that page and was talking about a trojan link being blocked. I trust you bone and don't think you would send a mal-link but maybe some one has hacked the escapist's website.

Hit before there was water there? :D
