my only hesitation is whether the PC version comes with Steamworks as I'd rather be able to register it on my Steam account

PC version does not contain Steamworks, and thankuflly not GFWL either.

It just has Games for Windows, in this case the game's save files will appear in "My Games" folder , and some other standards titles with this label need to fulfill. Compatability and stuff like that.

So basically without the word "live" in the end, it's a totally different thing.


If the game contained retail mandatory SteamWorks or Games for Windows LIVE - i would have not bought Rage - i do not buy any games with that [censored].
