Clothes Brands/Styles: The ones you love and hate

Post » Fri Aug 05, 2011 10:19 pm

Just name the clothes brands and/or styles that you love or hate.

MINE:

HATE:

polo( ralph lauren ) --- b/c everyone I know at my school would act like it's a big deal to own it. But in my opinion it's stupid, they are paying like 80 dollars for a solid red collard shirt that they are just going to out grow, and they act like they are the big stuff over it.

Jordan socks --- I hate them b/c they are like 15 dollars for 3 pairs. And againI dislike them b/c people make a big deal out of them

Any brand that is similar in look and style to American Eagle

LOVE:

Nautica --- Their shirts feel amazing

Levi --- I have these cargo pants I like them cuz the have the 2 extra pockets

Nike --- Just don't care too much for anything they have that is overprice or cheap

Oh and I HATE skinny jeans

With you on Ralph Lauren, OP. It's absurdly overpriced, I can't believe there are people who would spend that much on a frickin' polo shirt.

With you on most of these, deleted two, the Burberry one because (although massively expensive), they do some decent stuff. And the other brand I just plain don't know.

I loathe Topman/River Island/H&M. Most of it looks and feels cheap, but for some insane reason still costs a hell of a lot of money.

I love Fred Perry (Even if it is really expensive, their clothes (generally) last a long time), Lambretta (same) and Ben Sherman (more reasonably priced, but still expensive). Doc Martens are great, but I'd rate them better if they weren't so over-exposed.

And Ralph Lauren can be good, I wouldn't buy one of their plain polos, but some of their other stuff is nice, and appropriately priced.

Crombie can bugger right off though, with their £1000 coats.

I like Fred Perry too but I don't know where to get any of the shirts by him that I like.

And I was talking about Ralph Lauren in general I just meant Ralph Lauren's brand Polo. Its just overpriced, In general. All the plain polo shirts are like 60 dollars and up. And the 60 dollar ones are the plain ones and even those sometimes cost 80.

Ah I get you now, I forget there are divisions of RL.

And er, if $60 for a polo is too much, you might not actually like Fred Perry stuff. Their standard polo shirts are about £55/£60 a pop, and their Laurel Wreath collection stuff can be around £110. If you want a proper shirt, you can be looking anywhere up to £175. Be grateful that you pay a lot less when you look at the exchange rates (It'd be $95-$100's if you paid our prices).

As a rule, I dislike all shirts which brazenly display their brand name on them. I'm not a Formula 1 racer, and I'm not paying a company to advertise for them.

If they're very subtle about it, then I tend to relax that stance.

Louis Vuitton is, what we call in my language, "een sacochenmerk" = a brand of purses. Ridiculously expensive for no good reason. Used to be for old rich women, but football players love showing off with them like the spoiled rich effeminate ponces that they are.

Speaking of football players, I also detest clothes displaying BIKKEMBERGSBIKKEMBERGSBIKKEMBERGSBIKKEMBERGSBIKKEMBERGSBIKKEMBERGS

Massive difference in materials there though. I like the quality of Fred Perry's shirts.

Nah I seen some Fred Perry that was cool as heck it was a polo shirt, that started out black but towards the end of the shirt it fades to grey. And there was another black on by him that was black but the collar and the edges of the arms were different shades of blue and then faded to white. That is a polo shirt I would spend 60 dollars on but it was 60 it was 50 dollars.

60 dollars too much for a plain red shirt that makes most people look uncomfortable.

Love:RVCA, they make wonderful t-shirts.They may be pricy but they are really comfortable and always have interesting designs on them.MOst other surfing brands are good too, the majority seem to use high quality materials. Most basketball shorts, they are usually cheap and much more comfortable than other styles..

Hate:Guys who where smediums.Other than that I don't like when people where a certain style of clothing for attention only.

Yeah I kind of hate the smediums too, but I hate when people wear the tight clothes for attention too.

I bought a Nautica Jeans co. shirt like last week for $20(On sale), and I was dumb enough to not try it on in the store, b/c I figured that it would fit the same way as a regular nautica shirt, but it doesn't, it turns out that Nautica runs a size bigger and Nautica Jeans co runs TWO sizes smaller. So seeing that I hate tight fitting clothes and I hate following trends (especially the one of tight clothes) So i gave the shirt to my big brother and didn't charge him. My brother is slim and I am hulk-ish. So the shirt fit him nicely. And looks like a regular fit shirt at that.
