Why does Bethesda hate Australia?

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2011 8:04 am

It was priced stupidly expensive ($90 IIRC), but I still pre-ordered - a lot didn't - all AU servers are practically already dead, so here comes free/sale weekend - 50% for wherever else, 25% for Australia. The sale price in Australia is more expensive than it is normally in the U.S.

But please blame piracy for bad sales though.

Head over to TOG servers. Mon-Tue we tend to pull a crowd.

EDIT: Point taken, but only feebs pay retail (if you do, you're only encouraging the price gouging) - but, if this leads to less Aus players it is a problem.

Canada has the same problem, our dollar is worth more and yet we pay more. Not to mention we have "free trade" relations.

Don't forget that you also have a better economy which also means things will be more expensive. Just tell me, would you rather pay more and have a job, or better prices and no job?

FYI Ecconomics is a [censored]!!!

I bought it on Steam. In hindsight I wished I had just ordered an overseas copy, or not ordered it at all.

Sorry but Australians have always been price gouged, it just so happens now it "makes sense".

But here's the part that takes it from a "you have more disposable income" to a tremendous "[censored] you" - it's 50% off for U.S. customers, but only 25% for Australians?

"[...] buy BRINK before Monday at 10am to save 50% [...]"
right below it is:
"-25%
$89.99
$67.49 USD"

can't some one buy this from you in america on steam and send it to you? it's only 25 american dollars.

Except that Steam tends to ban users who make a habit of this.
