I'm a skeptic.

Like the title says, I'm a skeptic. I'm a skeptic about everything. I'll believe it when I see if is a phrase I use often. When I saw news for the upcoming new class based shooter named Brink, I thought it looked alright but I wanted to read a plethora of reviews first. After seeing people in this very forum saying it's a 'You either love it or hate it type of game', I decided I wouldn't get it.

Then Steam used one of it's many magic tricks and put up this free to play weekend. I'm hooked. I love this game. Multi-player or with bots, same map 5 times or the whole campaign, I don't care. The gameplay is fun. It's a fast-paced class based FPS like Team Fortress 2, but you live longer than 30 seconds without a medic on your ass. There's something oddly satisfying about sliding towards someone and shooting them with a shotgun at point blank from the ground or leaping over crates and shooting some poor bastard in the back of the head.

Even the objectives are fun. Escorting a guy while the other team keeps knee-capping him? Fun times. Planting a bomb on a power generator and standing in front of it when it explodes? It just feels epic. The movement is more fluid then it's given credit for, as well. It's not Assassin's Creed, but Assassin's Creed doesn't have a shotgun that sounds like Jesus slamming a car door when you pull the trigger.

That is all.

I agree with Jerhicco. But of course, as he said "After seeing people in this very forum saying it's a 'You either love it or hate it type of game' "

Conflictions, conflictions, conflictions...

I've gotta say, you'll continue to love it for quite awhile, just like me and Grendolai.

this game teaches you to enjoy win or lose
beating the other team into the ground
or trying to get your team to get it together to breakthrough a chokepoint!!!!
Brinks gameplay is amazing and you svck at it if you dont get it !!!!
i agree matchmaking needs work but in no way is this game a loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go ahead now and tell me what a loser i am and that my english isnt good enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cryvaultboy:

Class Based Shooters in general are usually hate it or love it since their usually more complex than simple games like Call Of Duty.
