Then Steam used one of it's many magic tricks and put up this free to play weekend. I'm hooked. I love this game. Multi-player or with bots, same map 5 times or the whole campaign, I don't care. The gameplay is fun. It's a fast-paced class based FPS like Team Fortress 2, but you live longer than 30 seconds without a medic on your ass. There's something oddly satisfying about sliding towards someone and shooting them with a shotgun at point blank from the ground or leaping over crates and shooting some poor bastard in the back of the head.
Even the objectives are fun. Escorting a guy while the other team keeps knee-capping him? Fun times. Planting a bomb on a power generator and standing in front of it when it explodes? It just feels epic. The movement is more fluid then it's given credit for, as well. It's not Assassin's Creed, but Assassin's Creed doesn't have a shotgun that sounds like Jesus slamming a car door when you pull the trigger.
That is all.
