I don't think they've actually sued notch have they? It's not unlike companies to want to protect their rights to a name. I think all they have done is sent him an email about his use of it. I wouln't get all fussy about it.

Bethesda didn't even send the letter it was there lawyers that did. When a company tries to get a copyright lots of previous copyrights are auto flagged and the lawyers are warned. I'm sure when Bethesda's PR department is back from QuakeCon they will clear everything up.

There's also been a TV music show here in Australia called Rage since April 1987.

Although I find it very hard to believe someone would confuse a TV music show with a computer game.
