Deus Ex. It's an older game, so you don't have to worry about running it well.

I'm not familiar with Resident Evil 4. Could you post your computer's specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.), please? Laptops vary quite a bit.

Normally, the box a laptop is sold in will list its specs, but you can also find them by looking for a certain program on your computer labeled "dxdiag".

dxdiag isn't a program on the computer.

To run a dxdiag go to start>run>type in "dxdiag" and paste the information into a spoiler box here.

If dxdiag wasn't a program on your computer, running dxdiag wouldn't do anything. In fact, the only reason you can get away with just typing dxdiag is because dxdiag.exe is in your http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/path.mspx?mfr=true directory.

I'm aware of this I was just trying to clarify that you weren't going to find it in the list of programs as far as I know. I should have worded it better though, you're right.

Sure you will. Hit the win key, and type dxdiag, and it's right there under "programs".

http://www.piriform.com/speccy is a nice tool for a quick and clear overview of your hardware. Easier to read than a DXDiag too.

Yeah, I figured that was the case. I'm just being a stickler because of things like "apps" on phones and people who think that because it's included in the OS it's not a program.

Sure you will. Hit the win key, and type dxdiag, and it's right there under "programs".

I used to be able to say "Not for most people", but XP and pre-XP Windows OSes no longer make up the majority of the desktop OS usage share :celebration:

Dude, go to www.gog.com. Your laptop can probably play anything they have for sale there. I recommend all of Black Isle's games to keep you busy - Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment. Those will keep you busy if you haven't played them, and they're no more than $9.99.

The original fallouts: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, old games no problem running.

Or get the C&C series, Red Alert 1/2, Tiberium Sun/ Fire storm. C&C Generals.

Starcraft 1/ Broodwar

Diablo 1

Diablo 2 with Expansion Pack

X-COM is an unsurpassed classic, a sublime hybrid of turn-based squad tactics and global strategy defending the Earth from alien invasion - and it will run on anything more powerful than a toaster. :P

Your specs are pretty decent for a laptop, though, and you should be able to run most games except the very recent ones. Off the top of my head I'd also recommend Evil Genius and Sid Meier's Pirates! if they seem like your style.
