Dear Fellow "enRAGE'd" players!

In my opinion we must find out a great way to pull out the most of our hardware. Im asking for advices and guides to tweak our op. system and get the most frames out. In my case since i got a "fairly mature" PC with components like:
Intel q9400 6M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB
kingston hyperx 4gb 1066 ram
ati 5770 1gb
7200rpm hdd

so i kinda need the extra power. what would you suggest? i would be eager to hear about tweaks including kinda stuff our forum mate wrote about:

so how a RAGE optimised win7x64 ultimate sp1 'looks like'? things are obv. for me and easy to find info on it so im not really interested in:

buy extra hardware (sure! laters...)
Overclocking
Defragging
Disk Cleanup
Add/Remove Programs
Virtual RAM (dont use orly...)
RAID&SSD ( pretty straight-forward topic without much to discuss IMO)
newest TuneUp Utilities
