Why Mr. Willits? Why?

Post » Thu Aug 11, 2011 7:57 pm

Yeah - your correct - but this is not how this works.

He represents id Software - and that's not how to do marketing for RAGE - i mean ....... how can they do such a thing - they don't want people to buy RAGE or what ?

This is a critical time - Tim Willits is making a lot of RAGE marketing drive - and he's connected to that for RAGE , and now he makes this comments people instantly are connected with the "rage guy" .... so it ruins that marketing drive.

I am NOT always online - does this mean i am not an iD Software fan ?

There is a FLAW .. he said "our fans are always connected" that means he's representing ID Software and/or Zenimax

Mister Obvious: Hello - My name is Stewox and I am NOT always connected, an ID Software and RAGE fan .......

Hello .... there's a land called Europe ... where people's habbits are different - we are not internet addicts here who always need to be on phones/mobile/laptops and such useless slack just to be online on time. - what time - do you think my friend controlls me when i'll be on line ? I will be when i have time and im ready ! duh!

There's also stuff called traveling - wich is the place where mobile stuff actually comes in (not in the freaking walk to the mall)

And there is much less chance of internet in the ...wild ...

Considering it was a private interview and Tim Willits isnt the CEO of Id? I dont think Tim is "Id" if it was Todd Hollenshed then I would be a bit more concerned. no it was not "marketing" (it could be, but I doubt that) and considering all we have is Eurogamer's say on things its important to take this with a grain of salt.

I don't know why they choosed Tim to say that - it's a disaster for RAGE marketing which has up until now been perfect :brokencomputer: :brokencomputer: :brokencomputer: whyyyy Willits - why not some ZeniMax financial boss or something !

To hear that from a game developer and - more yet the LEAD game designer and practically a 15 year ID veteran is very very very bad IDEA.

EDIT: and i am not even Diablo 3 Fan (genuinely not an RPG guy) but i am now active in this tread ---- BECAUSE THIS IS AFFECTING RAGE !!!!!!! ofcourse im mad over this - for no reason it got RUINED!

I expect ZeniMax press release on this and apology from willits -- only way to CURE RAGE marketing imo - and get back to positive levels fast.

This was one of the biggest booby traps ever ----

ID Software here is a lesson: Blizzard is part of Activision - Blizzard fans are one of the most pissed of FANS ever ... remember SC2 NO LAN ? ... remember all those SC2 tournaments disconnecting at MLG ... that's not a LAN party anymore - that's internet cafe.

Do you drink coffee like 24hours a day?

1) Tim never said that Rage is going to use it.

2) Take this eurogamer interview with a grain of salt.

3) Calm down.

I know he said RAGE is not going to use it.

Do you even hear what im trying to say.

It's not the correct time in the RAGE marketing campaign to EVEN REMOTELY MENTION something like this. If it's RAGE or not rage - doesn't matter PEOPLE are instantly ATTACHED to "RAGE" because it's TIM WILLITS him SELF that DONE most INTERVIEWS recently about RAGE.

That's it.

I apologize I had completely missed that I am sorry.
While that is true people might associate with it Rage, but that is just jumping the gun and making assumptions.
and I meant no insult just making a joke.

Well you guys are also forgetting that Quake 4 had a version of this online only thing. That version would verify the key once in a while and if it couldn't it would just shut the game. It's pretty annoying if you ask me. I know piracy is a major problem but people who can pirate a 22 GB game can sure as hell keep their connection on forever. The people who actually can't do that shouldn't suffer for that. In fact I don't mind going old school and having to insert the disc in the PC each time I want to play but always On is difficult. I live in a place where it rain like forever and the internet connection is pretty reliant on that factor. Now imagine I can't go out due to rains but I also can't sit at home and play my favorite games because it needs an internet connection. :(

And Mr. Willits do you really think this whole always ON system will stop people from pirating the game. No it won't, look at starcraft 2. The single player can be played without a legit version. The multiplayer is a different story I agree. BUT IT'S multiplayer you do need an internet connection for that. Leave the Single player alone. People are not going to take too kindly to this behavior. The PC crowd has gotten the shaft a little way too many times. Started with EPIC, then Dice, and then Id software. You guys made PC gaming a reality and now you are out to ruin it? Seriously PIRACY being a reason for anything has to stop. People who cannot buy will never buy and people who can will always do so.

The X360 has a lot of piracy too, Why don't you go ahead and make XBOX LIVE GOLD a requirement too? See how well that goes. Or what ever PSN has go make all those things necessary for console users and then make it necessary for the PC user base.

How can UBISOFT even claim that there was a reduction in piracy on what basis, give us numbers and can they for a fact verify that it was because of the alway ON system. I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT! Because as I say this, I can see every game of theirs on every major torrent site.

FYI - I have completely disowned EPIC now, Did not bother purchasing any of their gams since the infamous comment Cliff Blizenski made. Now let them come out with whatever game they want. They don't get my money. They make their name on the PC and then give their users a finger. Well good for you EPIC that you didn't make any money on Bulletstorm, what can I say Karma is a [censored]!
