Hi,

Is Eyefinity widescreen (5760 x 1200) resolution supported in Rage? Thanks in advance for your help.

In Carmacks keynotes at quakecon he talks about how they did not design the game to work with eyefinity. But that does not mean it will not work. Crysis was designed before eyefinity was available and it still works with it. So i see no reason why it shouldnt work but it wasnt designed with eyefinity in mind.

I see. So, that probably means having to manipulate the ini code to customize a resolution and then probably having to change the fov as well and then hope the menus and text show up okay. There's really only a handful of games that work natively with Eyefinity. I'm beginning to wonder if the whole concept was a fleeting fad. When it works, it's pretty awesome though.

No - Carmack said they will patch-in the support. Make sure you are here when the game ships and bring up those Eyefinity threads.

Found some info. Carmack said he might play with Eyefinity after Rage is released and then send out a patch that enables it. Doesn't sound like a sure thing though. I'm canceling my order for now. :(. Meantime, I'll play Deus Ex Human Revolution which is released with native Eyetinity support.

RAGE has great potential on PC - they just aren't using all their capability of that because of the bias they expect.

And just because THEY have that perception of "no we don't need to support PC a lot 3x more sales are on consoles"

Yes ... crap games like mw2 sell 40x more on consoles than on PC !!! You could have made a difference with RAGE.

How unfortunate it is they just don't use their instinct.

"You have 100 million and focus on the PC you'd be out of business" ---- clearly Blizzard is not out of business and SC2 did cost about 100 million.

That upper post is a perfect example why PC games don't seel - expectations are much higher.

ID software has a such a great game ... and think if that support comes too late - it'll can be late enough people won't care anymore.

And all the capabilities to make people blown away ... what a pity. They need to speed up their strategy or they will be eaten by Battlefield 3 and the rest.

They should have predicted what PC gamers would definitely want to see ... and this game is i mean .... im buying it because it's a game worth the dollars and i like good long adventure singleplayer a lot. The modding tools are another big reason.

Let me say ... is DOOM4 the title that will actually make that happen. Why wait till Doom4 ?
