Speed Sling/Hoster

Post » Mon Aug 29, 2011 7:40 pm

Light Body I have both weapons (usually depends) with SS. I only use it on the Galactic/Tampa as far as the SMGs go.

Medium, I've been (trying) to use it on the AR's... but not getting much success. Only seems to work on the Rhett and Rokstedi. Pair it with either a Pistol/SMG.

Heavy, I always will have a Heavy gun with an AR secondary. Which for the most part is usually what I mentioned above (more Rokstedi tho).

Reason why I'm wondering is I saw some "Championship" gameplay for some tournament in the UK? And alot of the players (even Mediums) had Speed Sling on both Primary and Secondary. Do you think it's worth it to have both, or just have it on your secondary? Discuss...

I used to use it on my Bulpdaun, but when I saw that it just so slightly decreased the stability, I immediately switched to grip.

IMHO, I'd rather get more shots in my enemy with my current gun than have to switch guns.

I think it just really depends. My Heavy Medic uses a Sling on his Hammer, but Has a shield on his FRKN-3K, the FRKN being his 'primary'. Its good for both, but I think the under barrel slot on you primary(or you secondary used as a primary), should be used for something else like a grip or what have you.

On all my primary weapons they usually have grip, and most of my secondary weapons have speed sling. I dont usually put a speed sling on my Primary because there well our primary, we use these guns the majority of the game so there is no need to have a sling. Unlike our secondary weapons however they do need a sling in my opinion because when you run out of ammo in your primary you want to pull out your backup weapon as fast as you can so you can drop the opposing enemy in front of you. Anyway almost all the sub machine guns in Brink don't even require a grip, the only one that may require it is the Tampa because it has decent equip speed already and can use the extra stability. Every other sub doesn't need a grip, the carb-9 might need it due to its recoil while ADS but I like to use it as a hip firing weapon due to its awesome damage and already decent tight spread, the Bulpdaun has the best accuracy in the sub's division and has amazing stability even without the grip (its also the best choice to put a coga on, that and the Kross) the galactic has amazing hip firing, and accuracy, you can snipe people from across the map but good luck trying to kill them because it has the least amount of damage. (its probably the best sub to use a silencer due to its already low damage, the silencer barely reduces anything.) anyway the primary's dont need a speed sling they need more stability to kill your enemies at a further distance, sure it might have its advantages to have a sling, but your gonna be using it more often then your secondary so you might as well put a grip on it and leave the speed sling to the secondary's. This is just my opinion.

I use a speed sling/holster on all my main weapons. The minimal amount of stability loss is usually negligible on most weapons. I only used weapons with high accuracy and/or stability anyhow... With the exception of my mossington and tampa (on rare occasions).
Right now my main set on my medium is the Euston and Bulpdaun, both with SS. It makes a huge difference in my book.

My light uses Bulpdaun and Sea Eagle, both with SS/H... I couldn't possibly praise that set enough.

Agreed on the Tampa. It has the best Equip Speed I think of all the SMG's. Carb9 being right under it. Even with a Grip you can equip that thing pretty quickly I'm starting to notice. Heh.

Depends on how often you switch weapons. If you're like me and usually only switch when on last map or hear the dreadful, "Click click click." Then a speed sling isn't usually worth it.

But if you often use one weapon for short range engagements, like a SMG but a AR for long ranges, then the ability to quickly switch back and forth is much more potent.

Anyways, for your question, I don't think it's worth it to have it on either. You should maximize both weapon capabilities and just stay mindful of your ammo limit, cover, and your battle effectiveness in certain scenarios.

I run Medium so yeah, I do use AR/SMG for the most part. I've been running a AR/Pistol that's working quite nicely when I'm Soldier. Engy too cause the IWB... but you run outta ammo quick with the Pistols/Revolvers.

I dont see much of a benefit or a penalty either way.

I'd rather use foregrip on my bulpdaun and the pistol is fast enough as is.
