I want some attention

I worked on it for 15-16 hours. It's for a board game I'm making.
Tell me what you think of it!... please. Because I only have 4 views and I want to show off my work. Not to mention I actually want people to give me some critics, so I'll know what to do better next time!

Thanks!

A cool close up.

It's a spirit-type of creature. Like a giant ghost bird XD for your taste...

Ah. That was confusing the hell out of me. Anyway, it's a very nice work, and the visible moons are a nice touch.

Looks good, very good. You should get a job as a game artist. But I don't think advertising is allowed

I really like it actually. If I have any criticism, it would be the same thing I find "wrong" with most computer aided "paintings." They lack the subtleties that are possible with careful pressure and blending that can only be achieved with a brush in wet paint in hand.

I don't know, I've seen some damned fine 'paintings' done digitally that if I hadn't been looking at a book about digital paintings, I would have never had a clue it wasn't real oil/acrylic/watercolor/etc.

OP: That's pretty cool. The only real complaint I have about it is that zoomed in, the horse doesn't really look like it's on the ground, just kinda placed there. I suppose I'd call that a lack of depth.

I agree. Though you'll find some artists that manage to bring back some of the "Hand-made" charm back, even if they are using tablets.

You're right :) I'll see to that.

It's not advertisemant really, it's not finished or for sale, he just wants critique.

This looks awesome by the way. Ever thought about being a game artist?

That's pretty cool, I like it. It reminds me a little of...I forget the correct term but, those Chinese landscape paintings of mountains and fog.

My brother just pointed out that the creature seems to ruin the painting. I agree with him to some extent. I'll probably go ahead and finish it tomorrow.

Now, let's not jump the gun here. I said "most." I too have seen some great digital paintings, and I'm not bashing the format. But, as an example, let's have a look at the close up from the second link in the OP. To me the horse looks copy/pasted onto the grass. Careful blending with still wet paint could have made that seamless. Again, OP I love the pic. I'm just pointing out what my eye gravitates to in "most" of these digital paintings.

Edit:
Sorry Sept... just re-read your entire post that I quoted. My our point still stands though.

Is this the same game where you were making all those cards?

The quality of this work is just as good as those cards were. I'd love to see the final product.

Also, to echo others, put these in some sort of portfolio to show off your talents to those who would pay for such works.

I like it. I'd also like to echo what a couple others said here: If you haven't considered becoming a game artist, you really should with work like that.

I think both images are quiet nice! Also, I do think that the amount of work you put in is obviously noticeable.

Damn dude, that's really good. It's stuff like this that makes me feel like a useless sack of meat who doesn't contribute anything worthwhile to society(since I have no talents of any kind).

It's just as easy to make mistakes like that with traditional media (speaking from experience here). There are simply more people doing and showing off digital paintings, so a greater number of them is going to be from artists who aren't masters in the field. You rarely see amateurs painting in oils, so you rarely see errors (and when you do, it's easier to pass off as artist's intent)
