Hello,

This evening, whenever I play a video on youtube and make it fullscreen, my computer displays a black screen for a few seconds and then BSODs. The bsod is so fast I don't get to see what's written though. My video driver's up to date, as well as my Flash. GPU is a GTX-280 and CPU is an Core2Duo E6600. Temperatures are the same as always (kinda hot, but it's always like that). I'm using Chrome to view videos, and am downloading Firefox to test it as well.

Any ideas for what could be causing this? I could watch videos just fine in fullscreen this morning and last night, and I didn't install any software in between.

EDIT: I'm on Windows XP, and I just tried FF and it causes a bsod as well. :cryvaultboy:

if you didn't experience this problem with your previous driver, maybe you need to try uninstalling and rolling back to the earlier version

Hmm, I didn't have any problems, if I remember correctly. But the driver update happened more than a week ago, and the problem just arose today. I'll try rolling back first.

First to prevent the autoreboots right-click My Computer, then click Properties->Advanced tab->Startup and Recovery's Settings button and uncheck Automatically Restart. Then you'll see the error.

This appears to be a multithreading bug with the recent NVidia drivers. I saw it on one machine because it was doing CUDA crunching at the same time. It only seems to affect Flash so it could be fixed on their end too.

Make sure nothing else is using your GPU when you're on YouTube or anything else that's Flash-based and GPU-intensive.

Turn off hardware acceleration in flash.

The oddest thing though, I came back right now to check the BSOD error, but I can't recreate it anymore. Everything's back to normal, for now at least. Hope things stay that way.

You are aware you can view BSOD's retroactively, right?
