Console Gameplay Videos

Post » Sat Sep 03, 2011 12:01 pm

Hi,

I'm really looking forward to the game. However my PC has been abandoned since Crysis ground it down to 15fps on an 8800GT. All my games since then have been on the Xbox 360. There have been many games recently that, given a stupidly expensive PC running dx11 and and gc worth more than my house, that look vastly superior to their console versions (Crysis 2 for example).

I'm therefore worried that all the wonderfully detailed videos and screenshots that are pouring out of Id and Bethesda are captured from some super-fantastical-hyper pc rig rather than a console?

Anyone know?

I believe the high majority of what we've seen is from the 360, PC will likely look a lot better.

I hope that's the case! *fingers crossed*

All official videos are from PC. But this and last years' E3 demonstration videos were recorded on Xbox360. There's no direct feed footage of PS3 version yet.

Thanks for the confirmation. It might just be me, but I can see an obvious difference, especially in the textures. I'm no less looking forward to the release but I'll be less disappointed now I think. Would be nice if developers would make it more obvious about what we're going to get rather than teasing us with essentially tech demos. No offence Id if you're listening! John Carmack is a god!

Yeah, I just looked at the official gameplay vids again, they're PC, you can tell by the buttons that show up on the screen. But I have seen gameplay which I know for certain was the 360, and it still looked very beautiful, although I can see a difference.

All the "Behind the Scenes" videos are recorded on PC's but at console graphics settings with a controller, except they are at the resolution of 1920x1080 instead of console 1280x720.

Most of the Rage videos out there are of gameplay from the 360. The E-3 demo from 2010 was on a 360 and the framerate looks amazing. PC gaming is dead unless you wanna buy a new PC every year.
