When is RAGE gonna be released?

Ok I'm getting some mixed messages here, when is RAGE coming out because I want to Pre-Order it but I heard of 2 different release dates, they were on the official Bethesda Softworks videos and there was a different one on the official RAGE website... so when does it actually come out.

The first date that I saw was 10/4/11 and the second one I saw was 9/13/11, so which on is the actual release date. :banghead:
