What do you all think about the live-action short film coming in mid-November?
Halo: Faith is an upcoming fan made short live-action film based upon the events that take place in the best-selling video game, Halo: Reach, part of the critically acclaimed Halo series created by video game developer, Bungie. The film, directed by Jared Pelletier, who has directed other award-winning short films, is set to be released on November 20th, 2011, online and will be the first motion picture based upon the Halo series. Although not the official motion picture, it will be amazing feat for such a low-budget film. The story follows three Spartans named Isaac, Malcolm, and Anton, who must support and protect the MAC Cannons during the initial attacks on Reach. Sounds like someone didn't have enough creative game-play ideas and had to put halo into movie format. A short one at that. :shrug:

I hadn't heard about this - could you post in this thread when it does come out, OP? I don't want to forget about it and miss it.

I love Halo, and I love live action videos of games (like the ODST and Future Soldier trailers) so this is pretty awesome.

Edit: Just looked it up, turns out it's actually by an independent studio. Still, the people making it are pretty impressive. Why did you think people would know about this without you explaining it, OP? It's somewhat obscure.

I have only heard that it will be online only. If you visit their facebook you can see galleries of behind the scenes and a photo of one of the CGI elites. It's sweet. Hopefully this will catch the eyes of Hollywood and theyll try to make a full film again.

Apparently its being filmed here in Toronto. I should find the set...its probably near an electrical grid station.

I frequent HBO so I've heard of it. That said, I haven't put much thought into it.

Why on earth would I be mad about it? I'm as indifferent about this as I am about who participates in big brother. It's quite easy to get the impression I got from it as long as you don't look at it as if it was "halo-must have". I based my point upon the fact that all halo games have been more or less the same, same problem is with the CoD series and assassin's creed series. It sounds like there simply is not enough stuff in the new story the halo creator came up with to be a game. That, or they ran out of gameplay related ideas. My opinions are nothing of the kind of hating or being mad, I'm just pointing out what it sounds like from the viewpoint of one who is completely switzerland about it.
