Enought to input and save basic text (not fancy word processing), and can run a very, very basic scorewriter. Just a single grand staff with 4 voices is good enough. And it should read some kind of ebook format too. (e.g. pdf.)
There's Garageband, which is pretty much the same thing if you're good at MIDI sequencing.
