Arizona State University vs. Virginia Tech

Post » Thu Sep 22, 2011 1:59 am

Hello friends,
I'm going on exchange from Australia to the US for a year and have narrowed down the college choices to either Arizona State University (ASU) and Virginia Tech (VT). However, I was wondering if there are any current students, alumni or knowledgeable people in these forums who can offer me some guidance in terms of Pro's and Con's.

I'm looking for the complete, stereotypical American college experience i.e. tailgating football parties, matchday (football) experience, good nightlife and solid college town feel.

Any guidance will be appreciated, thanks ;)

I have a friend who goes to Virginia Tech, she loves it, never said one bad thing about it.

I'm enrolled on a 5 and 1/2 year Arts/Law degree here, the exchange will be for a year :)
I want to experience the life of an American college student and just chill out for a year you know?

Is the exchange a required part of your degree or just something you're doing for fun?

And its not all chilling out, you still have to do a certain number of units relevant to your degree while you're over there :P

Something i'm doing for fun, yeah haha I know that but I wouldn't mind the change of scenery for a while - come back with awesome stories and experiences. It's a once in a life time opportunity, and i tend to take them when they come along

does the prospect not interest you?
