I want Bethesda to make a super awesome pirate game, kinda like the TES series. A big open world with pirates, ships and lots of cool stuff. there are too few good pirate games i feel. the only ones that are good that i can remeber are sid mayer's Pirates, and Monkey Iseland, and i can't understand why Bethesda havent done it yet. well to be fair there are some pirates in TES: Oblivion but it ain't a pirate game.. what do you think, shuld Bethesda set for a new awesome Pirate game as their next big project? :celebration:

Lol, Bethesda made awesome pirate games. Sea Dogs, Pirates of the Caribbean aka Sea Dogs 2.
There's another studio that Bethesda used to work on the pirate games with, Akella an Russian studio. They have made 2 pirate games in the years that have passed, fun games but they are hard to come by, they are working on a new title
Age of Pirates: Captain Blood. <-- on hold, may get cancelled. Disney tried to make a pirate game, Pirates of the Caribbean Armada of the Damned <-- Cancelled. I was a Bethesda like pirate game.

Bethesda published Sea Dogs/PotC, they didn't develop it.

I personally think a free roam sandbox pirate RPG would be amazing. Just imagine TES in a pirate universe, where you have various boats and ships, different types of swords/guns/cannons, that would be awesome if it was a true 300+ hour game in the manor that TES is.

Probably wouldn't even happen, though.

Has anyone played potc with the http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php/topic/15382-build-14-beta-1/ recently? Last time I tried it was a couple years ago, but it looks like it is still be worked on. It adds tons of new content to the game.

It already has. Try Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships :P
Or Pirates of the Caribbean with the Build mod, if you want Bethesda to have a hand in it.

Last one I tried was Build 12, I think? I stuck with an earlier, customized build though. Smaller tweaks suited me better.

I can't stand the piratey setting (much like I can't stand a very...Disney's Aladdin like setting...). So no, please no.
I like my swords, magic and fantasy creatures TES.

Nooooo....

If Bethesda want's to add another franchise to stand alongside the ES and FO, then they should make a Sci-Fi game. It would be good to see them take on Mass Effect.

Fallout is pretty much Sci-Fi.
I say there needs to be more games set in the Stone Age.

Maybe if they made the next Elder Scrolls game take place in Hammerfell, that would be a pretty pirate-y themed environment.

Otherwise, there's really no reason for them to do so. TES and Fallout games are in high demand. I can't help but think it would be silly to postpone doing more with those just to take a giant risk on a whole new series.

A pirate game? Like when you illegally download movies and stuff? That sounds boring.

At the moment Bethesda seems to have plenty to do with the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises, it would seem odd to add a third setting unless they planned to expand again. If they did want to add something I think a harder science-fiction setting, with maybe a dash of cyberpunk. Yes Fallout is sci-fi, but I'd like to see what Bethesda did in outer space. I'd also like a sci-fi RPG that took a different route than the Mass Effect/Star Wars space opera. It's not that this is a bad sci-fi genre, but it's one that's already well covered in the medium.
